To: worst-case scenario

Texas has about 9,500 megawatts of installed wind capacity now. If Texas was an independent nation that would rank 6th in the world. Growth has slowed down the first qtr of this year.

Texas is the bellwether for wind energy production. The entire swath of the great, windy prairies could be the powerhouse for the entire nation with the right sort of infrastructure development. More power to them literally.

Is that energy added directly to the grid? How has this added capacity affected utility and energy costs?
