Hi
Someone said the two relief wells will not become production wells. Do you have any info on that? To me it is logical they produce to relive pressure if nothing else.
Of course, that would require approval by the MMS and a host of other agencies who might not grant that approval, which would be foolish, imho, 'cause all the money the Feds intend to suck out of BP over this has to come from somewhere.
Maybe their intent is to 'nationalize' an oil company. (The oil industry has been in the Socialists' sights for a long time, and once they had one, they could rig things so there would be competition only onshore on private leases and abroad.)
Over half of the US west of the Mississippi is Federally owned, and the disparity resulting from only the gubmint oil company being allowed to drill there would mean other producers would be at a disadvantage.
Of course, if the Government did drilling like they do everything else, either nothing would get done, or the result would be such a cluster**** that it might be prudent to invest in buggy whip makers.
Two new wells are being drilled from differing angles, targeted to intersect the defective well.
The goal is to then pump cement, etc thru these two wells so as to seal off the entire reservoir.
