Scientists say a more powerful Katla volcano is 'close to failure' LONDON - A second, much larger volcano in Iceland is showing signs that it may be about to erupt, scientists have warned.

Since the start of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption, which caused cancellations of thousands of flights in Europe because of a giant ash cloud, there has been much speculation about neighboring Katla.

An initial research paper by the University College of London Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction Analysis of the seismic energy released around Katla over the last decade or so is interpreted as providing evidence of a rising ... intrusive magma body on the western flank of the volcano."

Thanks for the great chart. However, I note one significant error. The 1851 eruption of Mt. Pelee in Martinique was a minor one. The one in 1902 was much bigger, like Mt. St. Helens except there was a 35,000 people town directly in the line of fire of the pyroclastic flow which killed almost everyone. The same year there were major eruptions of 4 more volcanoes around the Caribbean Plate, including St. Vincent, Guatemala, and several other Central American countries. Killing another 7 to 10,000 people. Also Grimsvotn in Iceland started major eruptions that year.

The Book of Revelations was intended as an allegorical story of the destruction of Rome, as the people in that day didn’t want the Romans to take it personally and fry their butts.

The full, and new moon periods exert a more extreme pull on the earth, and in addition to more extreme high and low tides, I believe there are more earthquakes and volcanoes at such times. By the way, right on schedule with the full moon be have significant eruptions in Guatemala and Ecuador:

The Bible is not the inerrant, infallible and inspired Word of God. It is the inerrant, infallible and inspired word of the winners of the Council of Nicea in the Fourth Century. Once they had the power, they worked vigorously to reject and erase any other "biblical"; writings they didn't agree with and labeling them heretical. In addition they pulled together several different versions of old and new testament writings, without even editing out various contradictions. One example is the two different versions of the creation of man and woman in Genesis. In one version God created man and woman out of the earth. In the other version he created woman out of one of Adam's ribs. How inerrant is that. This leads to considerable potential ideological conflict. Are man and woman coequal in the eyes of God, or is woman subordinate to man? I haven't checked this myself, but I am told that the Resurrection descriptions in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are not in agreement in important details. Since God used "human agency" to pen it, and humans are notoriously fallible, what they have written may be "God inspired", but it is hardly "inerrent and infallible."

Thx for the ping!

However, there truly is little evidence that Katla is active at the moment.
