Rush Limbaugh: I know I'll be destroyed eventually (this is really sad)

He's the most-listened-to personality in the history of U.S. radio, but Rush Limbaugh feared for his life recently and said he knows he faces destruction at some point, to the delight of some of the American public.
In an e-mail sent to Zev Chafets, author of the new book "Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One," Limbaugh admitted, "I know I am a target and I know I will be destroyed eventually. I fear that all I have accomplished and all the wealth I have accumulated will be taken from me, to the cheers of the crowd. I know I am hated and despised by the American Left."
The message was sent the day after President Obama laughed at comedian Wanda Sykes' joke about Limbaugh's death during last year's White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.
Find out amazing, behind-the-scenes information that the doctor of democracy never talks about on the air in "Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One," direct from WND!
In a diatribe against Limbaugh, Sykes said: "Rush Limbaugh, 'I hope the country fails' I hope his kidneys fail, how about that?"
The dinner was broadcast nationally on C-SPAN, and a clip has been posted on YouTube, with Sykes' remarks about Limbaugh beginning at the two-minute mark:

"Theres nothing unbelievably evil about liberals. Theyre garden-variety evil at worst, and mind-blowingly stupid at best."
At the outset, let me say that I bear you no ill-will, and this should not be construed as a personal attack. I do believe, however, that your post exemplifies the type of mind set that gives birth to RINOs, compromise and, ultimately, defeat.
The problem lies in assuming that the enemy (yes,
enemy) is just misguided, selfish, opportunistic or ignorant. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The Alinskys, Ayers, Emmanuels and Axelrods of this world are no less evil, and in fact are far more insidious than the Hitlers Stalins and Amins.
In the latter cases, the evil is manifest, readily identifiable and repugnant. It is therefore easier to mobilize good men to fight against it. When it manifests as pragmatic politics, however, good men are lulled into thinking that they do not have to shed blood for their freedom - today.
The left counts on the inherent peace loving nature of those who stand guard against tyranny. They corrupt slowly, incrementally, but in the end totally. That's why they are called "Totalitarian."
This leads to the kind of "reaching across the aisle" that gave us the worst presidential candidate our side has put forth, certainly in my lifetime.
You would do well to recall the words of Ayn Rand, speaking through her character John Galt in "Atlas Shrugged".
"In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit."
Interesting that an atheist should have a clear understanding of dangers inherent in assuming mere stupidity on the part of one's adversary, while people of faith blindly trust in the good nature of their fellow men.
There is no "garden variety evil". It is an absolute. Just as "good" is absolute. We find ourselves in the conundrum of having to pick a side, while not being dispossessed of the flaws inherent in the "other" side of our own nature.
Our more civilized instincts, our desire to "get along" and our need to deal with these people to some extent in our daily lives make the conscious realization of their true nature uncomfortable. Once in a while, however, they make it easy for us, as those we think of as bumbling morons, momentarily let the Demon inside be seen, if only for a moment.
These are not the faces of misguided, people who you can have lunch with and work things out.
These are demonically possessed sociopaths, whose lunch will be your heart and soul.
(They do, however, frequently use the modern epithet "Yo!" to express how hip they are.)

That I have not read Rand is an interesting assumption.
Barack Obama didn’t vote himself into office. Lots of my friends did. I refuse to consider my friends evil. If they were evil, they wouldn’t be my friends.
(I would also note that if you’re calling me a RINO or a compromiser, and I am not sure you are - but if you are, you’re off-base. Even my staunchest partisans won’t give me much credit for compromising.)

I sort of empathize, but I’m sitting here looking at what’s going on, and it taxes the superlatives.
How many states right now are in danger of defaulting on their bonds?
How many European countries are in the same state?
Iran is *this close* to getting nukes - that alone was unthinkable four years ago. You put that scenario to any sane person and they would have said - “Can’t happen.” They are nearly there.
US Debt at 90% of GDP, and who knows how cooked the GDP number is.
The only thing really good happening right now is the lack of inflation.

“Yep. The comedienne Sykes just had her show canceled. Rush is still around.”
I didn’t know her show had been cancelled becaus I have never watched her show. When I saw clips of ger remarks about Rush I didn’t think that she was funny at all.
Now if she did a prat fall going on stage and literally broke a leg, I would find that funny. If it was a compound fracture and she was squeling like a banshee I would find that hilarious.
I know that I shouldn’t say things like that. But sometimes I do.

I choose my words carefully.
"You would do well to recall the words of Ayn Rand, ..."
That is clearly not an assumption that you had not read the book.
Read my second sentence. I studiously avoided calling you names. I suggest that you should consider the substance of what I said about the enemy, not what you think I may have said about you.

I know Rush is a big 24 fan. I don’t get to listen much. Has he reacted to the 24 finale on his show?

"These are not things that you can fake," Limbaugh continued. "[If] you care about something, you care about it. If it really angers you, you get angry about it. When you're a leader and things like this happen and you think people are being lackadaisical in fixing it, then you step in and you see to it that everybody heels to. There hasn't been any of that. There's been the usual political posturing. ... As I understand it, 0b0z0 is getting impatient, saying something like "Plug the damned hole, already!" Of course, going on vacation is not exactly crisis mode.

I'm with you there!
Women need to know all about oil! Salad oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil. No good in the kitchen without knowing oil, that's for sure!

I know I am hated and despised by the American Left. I had first-hand exposure to the virulence of that hate. A rabbi, at least so self-described, volunteered that if he could, he would grind the end of a broken glass into El Rushbo's forehead. Although of little comfort to Rush, I'm sure the Leftist would like to do the same to Mike Savage.

Wanda Sykes is another liar like Barack Hussein Obama. Rush didn’t say he hopes the country fails. He said he hopes Obama fails (to make this country into a Communist Gulag - I’m paraphrasing - not quoting).
This world hates truth. It nailed Jesus Christ to a cross for it. That’s why Rush is in their crosshairs. He tells the truth and they don’t want to hear it.
