Reporting from Houma, La. Engineers have succeeded in stopping the flow of oil and gas into the Gulf of Mexico from a gushing BP well, the federal government's top oil spill commander, U.S. Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, said Thursday morning.

“Water is heavier than air. Go outside and point your hose at full pressure, with a wind (current) straight up in the air with your thumb over it. Does it fall right back down?”
Ummm...yes. As soon as the water exits the hose, it starts to lose velocity, and gravity takes over. In the live feed, I am seeing the material leaving the riser pipe initially loosing velocity, and then accelerating again as it goes up. Maybe its dirty gas...but it is not behaving like I would expect mud.
hmmmmmm
We shall see if it sticks . . .
You definitely belong in a high chair
Every decision Obama makes (or doesn’t make) about this accident, is based on future law suits, liabilities and general blame. Everything this administration does is based on politics and the coming election.
Wonderful!
That’s pretty neat. Thanks for the link.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go to the ladies room and take care of a major case of the tingles...."
I’ll be using my cheerios to spell
“Hey BP- Call a military operations planning team to rewrite your emergency operations plan before the next time”
“7. LOCATE THE FIRE BOOMS that the US purchased since 1994 and get them in action! Well - that should have been done over a month ago. I suspect strongly that someone in Obamas adminstration knows very well where they are ... that Soros got them for Brazil and other of his oil interests abroad. (Brazil was not sold booms, yet they have them. US WAS sold booms, but the Coast Guard couldnt find them - thus the Delay of the burning test that was in the news a month ago. I wonder where our booms are? I guess that Brazil is loaning us some. I bet that Chavez has not.)
I dont want to take the time to go on but you get the drift there are clearly things you must admit that the FEDS have not done what they could and should have done. MOST of that is executive branch stuff - therefore OBAMAs responsibility.
Much of the above is simply politician crapola. Much is a result of Obamas absolutely incompetent choices for cabinet and other appointments. Science Adviser and Energy adviser etc... LOOK AT THE LACK OF REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE:

The Obama Administration has FAR LESS real world expertise than almost EVERY other adminstration in the history of this country! It is no wonder that they are so incompetent when it comes to REAL WORLD PROBLEMS. The BLAME for this lies SOLELY at the top of the executive branch - Obama.”
DITTOS on this part for sure!!
The part about our booms possibly being in Brazil should be investigated immediately as well.
just heard from my company that they have pumped 7 thousand barrels of mud and they have 43 thousand barrels left on hand...
will be interesting to see how much gets used...
bttt
Well then I guess it’s not working.
Oh ... reviewing some of the other things you have said in the past ...
Maybe I should instead apologize - and bring it down to a level you might comprehend -
This specific well was a “FIRST” in many ways. One obvious way is that it is drilling into THE LARGEST offshore formation EVER FOUND. BP used the collective judgment of some of the best minds in the world as to how to tap into this and to work on developing it efficiently and effectively. They made some mistakes, yes - their work is being done by humans, not by godlike generals and majors and captains like me and apparently you.
I have seen professional oil workers call this “The Well From Hell” after reviewing the data so far released.
Perhaps instead of being so darned certain that BP was incompetent in not having every single contingency covered no matter the cost, you should review sage words that you OUGHT (apparently) to appreciate, and that you seem to have the ability to dwell on at length as to its truth -
“No battle plan survives contact with the enemy”
Yes indeed!
The fact that they have gotten this far is an absolute marvel in my book!
They have another barge on the way if needed.
Where would Anderson Cooper get his Vasoline without Big Oil?
I apologize for my knee-jerk post written specifically to you earlier. I am quite testy now about people criticizing BP when they have no idea what an incredible job they have been doing this last month. Perhaps if you go through my posting history of the past few days you will get a better idea of what I have been learning - none of it in the OldMedia.
I would erase that post if I could, but retract it here.
Please instead substitute my remarks that are at least a bit more carefully considered - that concluded with the quote of Field Marshall Helmuth Graf von Moltke
Well from hell - sounds about right...
Wow I thought they had estimated about 800 barrels to do the job.
