"Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both." - Title 18> Part I > Chapter 67 > § 1385 of the U.S. Code.

Repelling invasion by a foreign military is authorized by the Constitution. So is responding to a request from the Governor of the State.

You may not remember the military attack on Pastor Koresh and his congregation in Waco. You can google it. Nobody was prosecuted for that.
