Gog is Russia

It was my understanding that Gog is a person, and Magog is a place, land, or country from whence Gog originated.

Now, I was off also on Russia being part of Magog. It IS mentioned elsewhere, but some eschatologists think that Meshech and Tubal refer to places in Turkey.
