I have to disagree with Beck on this. They aren’t telling them they can’t build a mosque. They are just telling them they can’t build it in a particular place. Governments do that with all kinds of religious buildings all the time, so this isn’t unusual.

Community Board 1, which represents the area of lower Manhattan that includes Ground Zero, voted 29-1 in favor of the proposal. There were 10 abstentions.

The city has the authority to issue or deny building permits. In this case they chose to approve a permit. People with working brain stems believe it should have been denied.

Beck's argument should be against giving the government that authority, which is stupid and hypothetical and a loser and shows Beck is losing it, if he ever had it.

For all those agreeing with Beck on this one, let me ask you this.

If the sky scrapper replacing the World Trade Center places a large Islamic Crescent Moon on top, would you object? It's a public building so I don't see anything that would stop them from doing so if the owner wanted. I ask again would you have a problem with it? If so then what is the difference between that objection and the one we have against this mosque across the street?
