Brandishing his libertarianism, Glenn Beck told listeners this morning that the government shouldnt interfere with the plans to build a giant mosque at Ground Zero.
His argument is that the government shouldnt be allowed to tell churches what to do.
His flawed logic reflects a profound misunderstanding of Islam. Its not a religion, its a dangerous ideology using religion as cover. The radicals are not the Muslims who behead infidelsthe radicals are the ones who dont.
Those Muslims who reject the bloodthirsty ideology found in the Koran are the radicals. Those who live peaceful and productive lives are the extremists.
Slaying all the infidels is not some misinterpretation of the Koranits a literal reading of it. The Koran and Hadiththe writings of the psychotic prophet Mohammed are rife with orders to smite, slaughter, behead, enslave, mutilate and otherwise practice the Religion of Peace.
We expect the nutty community board to embrace this occupation by our sworn enemies. Beck should know better.
Heard it this morning and was disgusted at his ignorance to the threat at hand.
Does the law treat mosques like it does other churches?
Fox has big Saudi investors.
Just saying...
This is Ron Paul’s foreign policy are two of the best examples of why I do not take Libertarians seriously even though I often agree with them.
Yup. Glen Beck’s bosses at Fox or major shareholders are cheering. The Saudis helped finance 9/11. They may say it could have been some rogue Saudi royal but they won NYC.
Keep watching TV and being slaves.
Duh.
Libertarians are just as nuts as liberals. Beck has always been a flake; this is just par for the course.
I would hope so.
for the ill informed, here is an account of peaceful islam over the last 1400 years, but, from the Indian perspective....

I tend to agree with Beck regarding the government involvement.
If Obama had the power, he’d ban Christian Churches and Jewish temples(?) in the name of “diversity”.
Government and religion is a bad combo.
News Corps world HQ is now in Dubai, isn’t it?
Then I wouldn’t imagine it matters whether Islam is a religion or an ideology, would it?
You don’t truly believe that, do you?
As far as I’m concerned the entire Western World...the US included...should outlaw the practice of islam as a matter of self defense. Islam is not a religion, per se, it’s a total, unified, political, cultural, economic, and judicial code of life that is completely at odds and opposed to our western heritage.
Exactly. By this logic, the submerged decks of the Arizona would be an appropriate place to erect a Shinto shrine.
Unfortunately yes. We help finance them via their tax exempt status.
What’s next? A church of satan? Calling it a “church” doesn’t make it one.
“Its not a religion, its a dangerous ideology using religion as cover. The radicals are not the Muslims who behead infidelsthe radicals are the ones who dont.”
Let’s call Islam what it is: a murderous cult. And it has one goal: a global caliphate.
Literally meaning “submit”, Islam only recognizes two groups of people: the faithful, and the infidel. And if you’re an infidel, you’re a second class citizen, on the same par with women and domestic animals. And it’s only through the benevolence of Muslims that you’re allowed to survive. In perpetual servitude, however.
As much as I admire Glenn Beck’s usual clarity on things, his mistake here is considering Islam to be a true religion.
Religions teach tolerance, peace, and coexistence. Islam teaches intolerance, jihad, and global domination.
Remember how silent the “good Muslims” and “moderate Muslims” were after 9/11? Sorry, that silence signals tacit approval to me.
Grr.
Beck is turning out to be a libertarian whacko, I’ve deleted him from my Tivo schedule and really don’t care what he says anymore.
Exactly.
By letting them get away with this tax exempt crap, we help finance them.
