President Obama clashes with McCain in Republican luncheon
Politico ^ | May 25, 2010 | Manu Raju

President Barack Obama battled with Senate Republicans in a tense closed-door meeting Tuesday, facing tough criticism from his GOP adversaries – including John McCain — on issues ranging from health care to border security.

Senators and other sources inside the meeting described the gathering as “testy” and “direct” – and Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) accused Obama of acting two-faced by asking for GOP support on regulatory reform only to push forward with a bill supported mainly by Democrats. Others felt that the meeting may have made already tense relations between the two parties even worse.

"The more he talked the more he got upset," Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kansas) said. “He needs to talk a valium before he comes in and talks to Republicans and just calm down, and don’t take anything so seriously. If you disagree with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re attacking their motives – and he takes it that way and tends then to lecture and then gets upset.”

I can just imagine Barry screaming “I won I won, SEIU and the media made sure I won, this is my house now, you can’t tell me what to do..Marcia Marcia Marcia”

I don't hear Jan, I hear the Veruca Salt, "Duddy, I want an Oompa-Loompa NOW!!" voice.

That's the problem with these coward RINOs- they are afraid to attack his motives, lest they offend the Obamassah. Gutless pukes. If they had any honor or balls, they would be screaming for impeachment- even though it won't succeed YET.

What in the heck were the Republicans doing in a meeting with 0?

I am a PROUD member of the party of NO. The GOP needs to start stopping their reach across the aisle to the MARXISTS - nothing good will EVER come of it. Boot the MARXISTS out of Congress, THEN try for some bi-partisanship.

McCain finally puts up some backbone. A little bit late, eh? I’ll bet he regrets not going to the mat with this little p****. Someone needs to dress down this punk!

Obama doesn’t want to talk with GOPers. He wants to do the talking and he wants everyone to agree with him and go along with whatever he says. That’s ‘communication’ and ‘compromise’ to Obama and his merry men & women.

Graham said. “He believes that he’s bled for the country in terms of giving up political capital and making his base mad. He said that often.

Some in the GOP get it but I doubt they will be brave enough to follow through, MAKE HIM BLEED ALL HIS POLITICAL CAPITAL. Quit backing down to him, stand firm and strong. Grow spines.

Rush has said that there will come a moment when the manchild will have a violent, public meltdown. Me thinks we are getting closer to that moment.

Yup, that's what a narcissist does. Annoying, huh?

One can foresee Obama eventually having a crack-up if trends continue in this very negative direction for him. I fear he is not made of stern enough stuff for this job. (if McCain and Pat Roberts can bring him to this state, what will happen when Iran threatens to launch a nuke up his nostrils?)

I agree. The republicans would do well to pull together and object to everything and not even accept him as a legitimate president. In other words talk down to him, interupt him and treat him like a tin-horn dictator on his way out.

He is mentally unstable and it is showing more and more everyday. I just wish Congress had the stones to actually do anything about it.

Seriously, Hitler got this irrational too. And no, I am not saying he is out to murder the GOP and then commit genocide. But absolute power with no checks and balances does not go well with a narcissistic sociopath.

So Juan McCain, do you STILL think we have nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency?

The fact that he is even in the same room as the Republicans shows he is feeling the heat. Obviously somebody got to him and told him he has to start dealing with the Republicans.

The Republicans know their going to pick up seats in November and so does Obama. They smell blood in the water.

I'm getting some popcorn.

If the GOP had any backbone they would be ready to egg him on at every opportunity. The guy would lose it given half a chance.

The Republicans will make some more moves to enable Obama and the Democrats again soon. They’ve already tag teamed to take down Wall St. and as soon as McCain fakes his way to winning the Arizona Primary, the RINOs and Dems will open the border with Mexico with “Incomprehensible Immigration Reform”. Here’s a political stat since last summer:

Obama Full Press Conferences: 0
Obama and GOP Luncheons Together: 2 (GOP Retreat in Jan. and Today)

I have no idea why the GOP keeps inviting Obama to the party. Did the Dems invite Bush to lunch when their base voters despised Bush. The GOP is really dumb.
