Plane crashes into Markham building (Toronto, Canada)

A small plane has crashed into an office building in Markham and burst into flames.
Witnesses to the fiery crash say the plane, believed to be a four-seater Cessna, was trailing smoke and rolled moments before smashing into the top of the two-storey building on Woodbine Ave., a block north of Hwy. 7 around 12:25 p.m.

The plane could be seen penetrating through the roof of the two-storey building at Woodbine Avenue and Hooper Road, and was engulfed in flames just after the crash.
The plane crashed shortly after taking off from Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport, said Derek Sifton, president of Toronto Airways Ltd., which owns and operates the airport.
Mr. Sifton said it was a Cirrus aircraft that officials believe was based in Burlington, Ont. The pilot did not file a flight plan.

I used to live in Markham, a very nice Toronto suburb. The area around Hwy 7 and Woodbine is heavy office / small business with a lot of technology companies. I know a lot of people that live in the area.

The pilot did not file a flight plan. Perhaps they did not have a floor plan of the Markham Building on hand...
