Seismographs all over recorded an odd event about 7 hours ago.
Link to the live data (which may roll off in another hour or two, but I captured the page)

FYI I use to work a global telcom backbone (including the data links for Sandia National Labs seismograph station around the world to monitor for nuk tests)... Network hits happen I had a sneaky suspicion you might know what you were talking about... If you hear anything interesting, can you ping me? Thanks.

“Fragile crust, dense and liquid mantle, with a solid core.”
This contradicts Pecos post #6.

I agree. And I posted a while back that I thought so.
When I read the ATS thread and posted it here, I hadn’t looked at all the times/stations yet.

Northern M-A-R — that’s why it showed up big-time in Adak and in Norway — with minimum P-S times and large-amplitude surface waves...

I posted early this am about a 6.0 on the mid-Atlantic ridge.
This is somewhat of a rarity...
Just seems to me that the length of time and the “bell ringing” effect that I asked Strat about would indicate it was alot bigger than 6.0 or 6.3

I’ve studied the charts and I cannot recall a similar event.

Well the site posted from does get into really bizarre topics that’s for sure, so I consider the source. However Will be interesting to see what is actually discovered...sending the link to my science math expert... likes the challenge! HA!

The quake today on the Atlantic ridge was very shallow compared to the normal quakes for that regionl 10km. USGS also raised it to 6.3m but looks like it could actually be higher than that.

Sounds logical . . . however . . .
no memory of such indicates some degree of uniqueness for some reason(s).
