Historian on the radio mentioned this. This man really does have a tin ear.

Skipping Arlington on this one, very solemn day

what an especially thoughtless stab in the heart to all the families that have lost their sons and daughters, husbands, wives etc since he took office- we just passed the 1,000 dead mark in Afghanistan and the fighting over the summer will be brutal.

He is a selfish clod. Obviously Arlington Cemetry does not stir his imagination.

Actually, it’s good that 0 won’t be desecrating Arlington with his presence. Arrogant puss bucket.

I wish he’d take a vacation every day until his term is over with. The nation would be FAR better off for it.

This may be the first time since the Civil War that a president will not pay respect to the veterans passed.
Has anyone seen any research indicating that term "may be" should actually be "will be"? While I could be mistaken, I can't recall a single president in my lifetime who wasn't at Arlington on Memorial Day.

Can anyone tell me how many times President Bush attended the Arlington Memorial Day ceremony, and how many he sent Dick Cheney?

I’m definitely not trying to be provocative, but I am trying to understand whether a year-on/year-off arrangement between POTUS and VPOTUS is a reasonable modern standard. (Obama was there last year)

For anyone willing to accuse me of being an Obamabot - HA!

He passed on any December 7th ceremony too. Didn't he?

He also took the family back to Hawaii for their first White House Christmas. I can't imagine how exciting it would be for a normal, America-loving family, with two young girls, to spend their first Christmas as First Family in the White House.

These are some weird people.

Biden’s speech at Arlington will surely cover all those Belgians buried there who died to preserve world freedom and democracy.

As noted, the president will be going to the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Illinois. This national cemetery, one of more than 100 cemeteries across the country, is the resting place of many of our service personnel and war heroes.

I certainly do not agree with the president’s political approach, but to knock him on this is considered an eye roller by many.

He’s the Commander-in-Chief.

He has an obligation to be there.

This so goes to show what he thinks of our country.

I wonder what the military who voted for him think of this?

This may be the first time since the Civil War that a president will not pay respect to the veterans passed.

That's because he has no respect for our veterans.
