The Committee on Pro-Life Activities of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has sent a letter to Congressional Representatives urging them to pass The Protect Life Act, H.R. 5111. The act would achieve the pro life aims Barack Obama and his Catholic puppets in Congress claimed were in Obamacare, but knew were not.
Referring to the profound flaws in its treatment of abortion and conscience rights, the letter lists the shortcomings of Obamacare and Obamas phony executive order he said would insure continuation of the Hyde Amendment prohibiting federal funding of abortions.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act known as Obamcare, does nothing to stop abortions or protect the rights of medical professionals who refuse to commit abortions.
To remedy this problem co-sponsors by Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA) and Rep. Daniel Lipinski (D-IL) have introduced HR 5111, but even this measure falls short of the genuine protection of unborn lives from abortions paid for with our tax money.
Democrats talk a good game but
Making an argument there are really pro life Democrats in Congress is quite difficult although the numbers involved say it should be easy if only the Democrats were honest about themselves and their intentions.
There are 108 self identified Catholic Democrats and 48 Catholic Republicans in Congress leaving their combined strength just 62 votes short of a majority. If there was a will to end abortion funding it would be easy to do.
Nevertheless: .... there are no pro life Democrats, just some Democrats that are better liars than others. Rep. Lapinskis co sponsorship of HR 5111 is no proof of his pro life credentials given his clear understanding... will never pass.
Lapinski's cosponsorship ... just five other Democrats. ... none of Stupaks ... phonies have signed on .... they were lying ...

Fools come in all kinds.
The whole problem is the UCCB allies with liberals because of the support for the “social justice” agenda.
How could any Catholic vote for this guy?
The same way that Catholics stay in the same church as the USCCB, I suppose.
I’m a Catholic, but I sometimes find the positions of the USCCB very muddle-headed. They will wave the flags of “national health care” (social justice!) or open borders (welcoming the strangers!) but are surprised when things like abortion, sex trafficking, child exploitation, Govt limits on Religious Organizations or a thousand other secular changes wash over society - and then they think they can negotiate in baby steps to stop the tidal wave of consequences that have come along with these things.
The Catholic bishops have lost all credibility. They give millions to community organizing groups, who in turn elect Democrats, who in turn vote for anti-Catholic causes. And then the bishops make these kinds of futile gestures.
The perfect example of an impotent bishop is Bishop George, head of the USCCB. He recently gave a Lifetime Achievement Award to Father Pfleger who: 1) threatened to kill a gunshop owner, 2) allowed Harry Belefonte to preach a pro-abortion homily in his church, 3) allowed anti-Semetic Reverend Farakhan to preach a homily, 4) is an unrepentent race-baiter, and 5) engages in sacrilegious liturgies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjMWbQ7UXOE
I have been told by another Catholic to lay off of Cardinal George because he is “dealing” with Father Pfleger. He has been dealing with Father Pfleger for 10 years and he hired Sister Anita Baird, who arranged the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Catholics, wake up! The American bishops are in de facto schism.
