the russians want one built in their shipyards so they can build others on their own.

they’re trying to get the israelis to do the same thing with their drones.

the chinese have been doing similiar things to the russians for a decade or two.

As much as I hate to admit it, everything I have seen about the Mistral looks pretty good.

It seems state of the art and pretty flexible.

But I am not a navcraft expert by any means.

SONOBUOY PING!

Click on pic for past Navair pings.

Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.

[Art.] According to media reports, France would like to sell Russia at least one of the vessels without all necessary electronic equipment.

Why would the Russians kick about this? You'd think that, if they were going to multiple foreign sources, they'd want to do all the comm, nav and AAW/ASW electronics themselves for class-wide homogeneity and maintainability, and keeping the parts bin in a secure rear area.
