President Barack Obama’s nominee to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which runs Medicare, is a strong supporter of the government-run health care system in Britain, who said in a 2009 interview about Comparative Effectiveness Research: “The decision is not whether or not we will ration care--the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open.”

The $787-billion stimulus law signed by President Obama created a Federal Coordinating Coucil for Comparative Effectivieness research in health care that some critics argue was a step toward rationing of heatlh care in the United States.

Donald Berwick, a professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and the head of the non-profit Institute for Healthcare Improvement, was nominated by Obama on April 19, 2010.

The fallacy of oligarchy strikes again: don’t worry folks, rationing is perfectly normal. Now shut up and let the government “help” you.

yes, we must be clear eyed and deliberate in our decision ot ration helathcare resources that might be wasted on the elderly and infirm whose remaining life spans offers less utility to society than the younger producing future taxpayer breeding population.

This guy sounds like a cattle breeder, not an MD.

The rationing will inevitably be political. Leftists will find reasons and ways to ration in favor of their constituencies and will privately boast about sticking it to their opponents. You can count on it.

The decision is not whether or not we will ration care--the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open

65% of Americans don't want "WE" to mean YOU.

There will be rationing.

It’s either the HMO rations according to their business model...
Or government rations by their standards.

I like my chances of fighting my rationing HMO (who needs my business) over or fighting the rationing government.

There will be no protesting or complaining to the government.

Hell is going to be pretty crowded, with all those politicians and media types jostling to get away from the hottest bits.

This is what comes from demanding government provide you with services for which you refuse to pay. Sure, Obama and his minions will use the reality to shape the world as they see it, but he didn’t create the environment that enables government to rule our lives-— the Voter demanded services paid for with issued debt for others to be paid some time in the future. It’s immoral and akin to slavery.
