Its quite a pet peeve of mine to see someone enter Congress with a net worth of around $1.5 million, get paid what their salary is, then wind up with a net worth of $20 million after twelve years in office. They must have some investment program up there.
Not only the access to insider information for trading but they also get to keep any unspent campaign donations.
Legalized bribery is all it is.

I heartily agree MNJohnnie. I would rather see donations turned over to the person who replaced the politician (if the same party), or the party itself. Those funds were not sent in to build personal wealth. This is a example of misappropriation of funds IMO. It really rubs me wrong.
