""This video was shot by the local parish government in South Pass. When we [CBS] tried to reach the beach covered in oil, a boat with BP contractors with two Coast Guard officers on board told us to turn around under threat of arrest.
"This is BP's rules, not ours."
We spoke to Coast Guard officials today. They say that they are looking into it.""

Am I missing something here?
You must be the most unobservant person on the planet. Obama doesn’t have an original thought in his head.
He reads a good speech. That is his talent.
He is a Marxist-Socialist who has been elevated by the hard left. HE couldn’t think his way out of the bathroom.
I don’t see how he’s failing to act. He doesn’t have magic powers to stop the oil from gushing out into the ocean. If this had happened while President Bush was in the White House, would we have been wailing that he was “failing to act”? No, they’d have been doing that over at DU, and we’d have been pointing out that there really wasn’t much he could do, besides letting the experts try their best to fix it, which is exactly what has been going on. If he’s actively trying to minimize coverage of it, (assuming there isn’t actually serious suspicions of terrorism) it’s most likely because he doesn’t want the leftist enviroweenie wing of his political base to get all stirred up and start loudly demanding that he promise to end offshore drilling (which he has no more intention of doing than President Bush did).
You mention intelligence but I see no reasons to believe that is true. The ability to speak in a pleasing tone and cadence has nothing to do with intelligence at all. Reading words from a teleprompter is not an indication of intelligence, it is an indication of the ability to read the printed word.
My guess is that had he done well in college we would have long ago been subject to the blaring accolades of the press concerning his “genius” in this area. Nor are grades necessarily an indication of intelligence since someone with a good memory, perhaps eidetic imagery, can easily score highly on a written exam.
True intelligence is the ability to think on ones feet and adapt quickly to the circumstances of the moment, bringing past experiences to bear in solving problems or addressing issues which can occur unexpectedly. This ability comes from life’s experiences, not from books alone since things seldom happen in real life they way they happen in a text book.
Intelligence is what we are born with, some more or less then others, while smart is what we become over time by living life’s experiences and “storing” them so they can be later applied in dealing with situations occurring.
Obama’s many gaffes and lapses of just plain common sense indicate to me he has a very average intellect and is merely a self involved individual who believes he is something he is not. Believing in ones self is a very big part of being successful but in the end you have to be able to do the job.
If you want to play in the big leagues you gotta be able to hit the curve ball. This president has not shown the ability to do that. He freezes when faced with the unexpected and should have been called out long ago but it seems the Umps been paid off.
