WASHINGTON—U.S. President Barack Obama on Saturday said that he has created a new panel on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and he's giving the commission six months to come up with recommendations for preventing future offshore drilling accidents.

"We need to do a lot more to protect the health and safety of our people, to safeguard the quality of our air and water, and to preserve the natural beauty and bounty of America," he said in his weekly radio address. He added that he wants "a comprehensive look at how the oil and gas industry operates and how we regulate them."

Obama has been kissing BP’s butt because they know “WHO” he really is and that ain’t good! Now, he will shut down all drilling everywhere and let the Chinese and the Venezuelans along with his “Muslim Arab Family” exploitthe World’s Oil Fields.........:-(

Sounds like an excuse to create more 6 figure salary jobs at taxpayers expense for the benefit of his political friends

Wow!
We're going to get a panel. Not just a committee, a PANEL.
Maybe the PANEL can get advise from an actor that's played an evil oilman in the movies.

“Oil Panel”?! This guy is such a loser. Now the MSM will trumpet how the great kenyan is “all over it” with his illustrious “oil panel”! All they’re going to do is recommend that we got to wind and solar panels asap and then offer a $300 tax rebate if you buy a Honda.

six months? I can come up with a solution in 2 seconds.

Starting with, lets hold off on the blame game until the mess gets cleaned up. Lets use our vast American resources and industrial might, to get out their and help BP shut it off. There will be plenty of time for the blame game afterward.

The right now demand that any oil platform in the Gulf regarding what country operates it must have the blowout protection installed within 1 year.

IF we can put a man on the moon we can figure this out. Never mind that someone at BP should have thought of this possibility and had a ready made solution on the shelf.

Yeah, but he didn’t go all the way to a Commission. Or better yet, a “Blue Ribbon Commission.” That indicates he really isn’t serious about the matter.

It seems like we are just sitting back and doing nothing but cleaning up what comes to our shores. The platform is 30 miles off the American shores were leaving it up to BP to shut it off when the whole industrial might of the United States is right here.

Collectively, this highly educated bunch will probably have less experience with petroleum than a trainee at Jiffy-Lube. It is standard procedure for this regime to have people running agencies who are utterly uncontaminated with real-world experience in the field.

They all have blowout protectors already. The BOP failed to close. There are suspicions that the batteries that operate them may have failed. Here are some interesting items about BOP testing. Maybe the "Panel" needs to re-review what is already in place.

Oh, nos! Not another panel. Our frustrated professor in chief, bereft of ideas, has appointed another commission.

I bet they read papers.
Lots and lots of papers.
Let’s not overlook the fact the PANEL will be DISTURBED by what they read in those papers.
Sorry.
That would be VERY DISTURBED!
(Please take special note. It is required by law you have your stern face on when you say DISTURBED.)

Goober Carter builds houses. Maybe Zero the Great will put on some old clothes, grab a mop, and offer to help collect the spilled oil in the Gulf.

This is exciting.

Obama’s standing energy policy has been for us to check the air pressure in our tires. That worked out great, so this too should be “comprehensive” and “unprecedented”.

I am so very excited.... oops, I think I might have fainted.
