The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws. The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not "good government," Morton said.

This is a word for word quote? Am I living in a parallel universe?! The state law implements the federal and yes, dirbag, I think people here illegally have committed a crime!

I simply cannot fathom how anyone can fail to understand that entering our country ILLEGALLY is a CRIME !! and it galls me that we have become balkanized into little subgroups with differing levels of privilege. If you break a law, any law, there should be consequences and it should not matter who the heck you are. We are all equal before the law. This administration’s policies are all about power and control for them and redistribution to those who can’t or won’t care for themselves. I want to keep what I earn, thank you very much, and all I expect is that my government perform its constitutional duties. Sadly we are way past that point.

The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally...
Hmmmm...

Is this guy really interested in standing by this utterly vacuous statement?
