A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.
John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports. "I don't think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution," Morton told the newspaper. The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws. The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not "good government," Morton said.

Doesn’t matter what their “ratio” is -
the Fed cannot do without their $$
Someone should tell the feds ILLEGAL means they are breaking the law.. what the hell
maybe we all changed our withholding saying we have 20 dependents the loss of the “advance” money coming in might shock them into actually doing their job
Clearly John Morton is unfit to hold a position of public trust...
Mr. Morton isn’t doing this on his own.
Thank you for coming to America the honorable way. We are proud to have you!
I hope you attain much success!
By the way...all of this will be corrected in time. Keep the faith. Americans are very very pissed off!
I was wondering too...I would send money as well
” They need to start working up some laws that say that any federal agents interfering with Arizona laws will be prosecuted. “
Folks, we have a
W I N N E R !!
This is flagrant derilecton of duty! Have we become a lawless nation for illegals to enjoy?
Orders from Obama, Holder, or both.
Screw you and the horse you rode in on!
If you're serious about fighting injustice and the insidious creep of federal totalitarianism, you sometimes have to make sacrifices.
If that sacrifice means something as paltry as a raise in the sales tax to fund more holding pens for these criminal invaders, then so be it. And, yes, it may mean many more sacrifices greater than that.
Now go play with your pinata elsewhere, you quisling!
Tents & peanut butter sandwiches & oatmeal for breakfast are the norm for Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Heat, wind, he doesn’t care.
I love his approach to ‘prisoners’ & I can see a really big tent city patrolled by citizens with their own guns & their own ammo.
They have had it.
I have had it.
This is not going to end with a beer in the Rose Garden!!!
The Feds openly breaking the laws they enacted.....how ripe is that?
Hey don’t blame me. When those beds were cut, I lost my job.
Blame the Republican state legislature.
Again, it won’t work for juveniles. The Feds can come in and start telling AZ we aren’t providing adaquate housing for them. The feds have all the power.
I simply cannot fathom how anyone can fail to understand that entering our country ILLEGALLY is a CRIME !! and it galls me that we have become balkanized into little subgroups with differing levels of privilege. If you break a law, any law, there should be consequences and it should not matter who the heck you are. We are all equal before the law. This administration’s policies are all about power and control for them and redistribution to those who can’t or won’t care for themselves. I want to keep what I earn, thank you very much, and all I expect is that my government perform its constitutional duties. Sadly we are way past that point.
Exactly! Status quo.
Why can’t Arizona just shove them across the border back into Mexico?
that’s federal jurisdiction
Maybe that's God's way of telling you you need a new line of work.
Ever consider becoming a tentmaker for Arpaio Industries...?
