Obama has decided to pre-announce to the world once-secret American ballistic missile tests and satellite launches.
The Democratic administration's goal is to show a friendlier face to other countries and to coax Russia to do the same.
It's part of a confidence-boosting initiative launched, so to speak, last fall when Obama suddenly abandoned the U.S. missile-defense system in Eastern Europe that had exercised the Russians, though it was aimed at potential future missiles from Iran.
Obama hoped such a unilateral U.S. forfeiture would encourage Russia to put pressure on Iran to halt its nuclear weapons development. So far no good on that.

Aren’t these announced already ? There are frequent threads announcing a launch is about to take place in Florida or Vandenberg, with a “classified cargo”. So what ?
It makes him look like a total idiot.
He listened too intently to all the communists and revolutionaries with which he has beeen surrounded spout their crackpot ideas of what they would do if they ran things.
Now he's trying to act on them. Vlad the Impaler must laugh himself to sleep at night. Putin understands that his primary responsibility is the protection of Russia; our Prexy doesn't act as if he has the foggiest idea that his primary responsibility is the well-being of the United States.
By 2012 the US will be well on its way to 3rd World status.

Barack Obama is an academic who bases decisions on theory and believes that the truth is relative to his understanding of it. He's beyond dangerous.
