Senator Scott Brown switched a key vote from yesterday and joined 57 Democrats and two Republicans this afternoon in advancing a massive financial regulation overhaul.
The Massachusetts Republican said that over the last 24 hours he received assurances from the chief negotiators in the House and Senate, Senator Christopher J. Dodd, and Representative Barney Frank -- that changes he was seeking would be addressed. Those assurances came during a phone call with Frank last night, while the Newton Democrat was working out in the House members gym. Brown was further convinced during a 40-mile bike ride he went on this morning with Senator John Kerry.
We recognize that theres going to be some fixes here, more than likely, and the conference committee, Brown said after voting. Im satisfied that all of our efforts Senator Kerry and my efforts will benefit and protect jobs in Massachusetts.
I spoke at length over a 40 mile bike-ride with Senator Kerry about it, Brown added. Hes a very good athlete.

The only people that I saw yakking about Brown for pres were the unual suspects over at whatever flavor of Pravda you like to watch. Brown for pres is a wet dream to them, and his wife is one of them.
Not another dime from me.
Especially one that charges and charges and charges...
He’s no different from the large majority of republicans. As Rush said, “We’re conservatives. They’re republicans.” Only a third party will save this country and that ain’t gonna’ happen.
He's a “Scott Brown Republican”, dadgummit! ;)
It is sad to learn that Brown's naivety was not in evidence before now.

Hes a very good athlete.. What the hell has that to do with the issue before you? Did Brown think his election was about athletic competition?
[[The Massachusetts Republican said that over the last 24 hours he received assurances ]]
BS!!! He got paid off- plaIN and simple!!! He knows Damn well that the public knows full well that ‘assurances’ by a democrat are WORTHLESS- if their lips are moving- they are LYING! His arrogance in thinking he can ‘convince’ the public that his descion waas based on a democrats ‘assurances’ BS is pure is beyond the pale-
Just another lying friggin politician- Yay
Oh so correctomundo. Remember this is the corrupt "Two-Party Cartel". There is ALWAYS one that takes the hit for the elites. How did Landreau &/or Bennie Nelson vote.
I hope the numbnuts gets a conservative challenger ASAP
I think he was bragging about how he can bicycle 40 miles without pausing. Brown wants to show people he is a real jock and can go one on one with John Kerry in an athletic competition.
Does this mean he will become one of Goldman Sachs newest VP’s when his Senate gig is up?
He seems pathetically eager to be liked by the other liberals.
Never forget... he won kennedy’s seat... and it is still kennedy’s seat. Brown is a dim running as a repubic... but he is not as evil as ted was... but give him time.

Marco Rubio is the only other natural politician I have seen on the Republican side this year. I mean someone who has the leadership ability and charisma.
You saved me from typing it!

Yeah and even he is an amnesty supporter. There ARE no true Conservatives running for the Senate... or not very many.

This shows Scott Brown to be an enormous fool. He accepted assurances from Dodd and Frank.
Rubio opposed the original Arizona immigration law, but supports it now that it has been cleaned up and improved.
Give credit where credit is due. Rubio SUPPORTS Arizona’s law now that is has been corrected.
My guess is that Barney Frank and Kerry and Dodd will keep their word on this one.
Don’t forget that Barney Frank was working out at the Eric Massa Gym, and Scott Brown said he will tickle Barney Frank if he breaks his promise.
Brown turns out to be a scumbag, surprise, surprise.
I hope a rat knocks the p.o.s. off in the next election.
I’d rather be stabbed in the face than stabbed in the back.
