Why is this news? Because the child volunteered the information that her mother is an illegal immigrant -- doesn't that at least warrant 5 minutes of someone's time to look into to see if it's true?

well the mother is illegal
she is getting free education for her child no doubt free health care too, probably getting food stamps and the feds will not enforce the law
