mindless liberalism......Redundant............
Johnny Rotten is no Johnny Ramone!
“Look at me! C’mon... lookitmeeeee.. Please!!!!....Look!... Loo-OOOK!...... Loooooooooooook.... Loookitmeeeeeeeeee!...”
I take it that liberty can’t rely on the Rotten vote.
Count me shocked that a punk rocker, even one whose time in the sun is long past, would say something intended to shock.
His comment is tame compared to the sex pistols lyrics.
On tour for the first time in 18 years, a barely half-full house greeted the quartet during the first of two nights at Royale. A chagrined Lydon took notice, of course, peppering his thoughts on the subject with a series of unprintable nouns and adjectives before the band had played even one blistering note of This Is Not a Love Song.
I apologize to you for the rest of Boston not turning out, said Lydon.
*shocking*
Another unique and intelligent thought from some lib in the entertainment industry...
I thought it was ‘punk’ to go against the mainstream?
How not ‘punk rock’ of him. Poser.
“the early days of punk when spitting on the band was (briefly) considered a sign of support.”
Another reason to dislike “punk”. Sounds like the white man’s form of rap.
He’s an old fool, trying to regain the limelight by pandering to his audience.
If one of them spits on me, I will quickly break him from that bad habit.
What would you expect from an obvious Labour voter with spiked hair? Probably supports putting CCTV cameras everywhere, letting yobs who break into peoples’ homes off with a warning, and throwing the proverbial book at householders who have the temerity to defend themselves.
humph ... I thought he was dead.
I’ll bet the liberal-establishment hack thinks he’s cleverly anti-establishment.
We all know he’s Pretty Vacant.
Ahhh. Scratch an anarchist, find a socialist. Typical. True anarchy (no government control) is to the right of conservatism (less government control).
Sid and Johnny were talentless, crass, slovenly tw@ts. Now Ian Curtis, he was a Torie!
At least he is/was against abortion.
I’d post the lyrics to the Sex Pistols song “Bodies” but I’d be banned for sure.
J Rotten and SO many people like him who rode the countercultural waves of “rebellion” from the mid or late sixties, all the way through the late 70s, now find themselves in a very conflicted position: they are FINALLY more mainstream than they ever were, they are treated like musical ‘legends’, and they are in effect, neatly ensconced in THE ESTABLISHMENT. They don’t and can’t understand this, OR that the ‘rebellion’ is now coming from people like Sarah Palin, and the “Tea Party Chimpanzees”. He still has to believe he’s an icon in an expanding pantheon of cultural rebels, so he still has to take aim at these imaginary ‘enemies’. He’ll never grasp the fact that our new and ever growing consitituency, “OLD” as some of it is,
actually represents ‘youthful rebellion’ better than he and his ilk ever did. What they represented was cultural suicide, culture’s dead end. Symbolically, the Sex Pistols now all need Viagra.
