President Obama and Mexican President Felipe Calderon joined hands Wednesday in blasting Arizona's controversial immigration law, with Obama calling the legislation a "misdirected effort" after Calderon slammed it as discriminatory.
Obama, speaking next to Calderon during Wednesday's state visit, called the the tough immigration law a "misdirected expression of frustration over our broken immigration system."
"We're examining any implications especially for civil rights because in the United States of America, no law abiding person -- be they an American citizen, illegal immigrant, or a visitor or tourist from Mexico -- should ever be subject to suspicion simply because of what they look like."
Obama said he has directed the Justice Department to review the law and said he expects to receive a final report soon.
Arizona's law, which takes effect in July, will make it a crime under state law to be in the U.S. illegally
At the start of Wednesday's White House visit, Calderon said the law discriminated against Mexicans and called for the two countries to work together to develop an immigration policy that did not force people to live in the shadows "with such laws as the Arizona law, which is forcing our people to face discrimination."

"At a press conference yesterday Obama let Mexican president Felipe Calderon denigrate AZ immigration law, sided with him on the issue.". Can anyone recall a United States President agreeing with a Mexican president that the United States should not have Sovereignty? That is exactly what this poor excuse for a US leader did. Plus he also trashed Arizona....how far to ruin the US will this South Side Chicago Community Organizer go to get votes? From whom? I would be ashamed to vote for a person who hates this country, its laws and the US constitution so much.

Wow, we had two of the biggest and most detestable and mentally challenged political crooks in this hemisphere at one place in a given moment of time.
Where was a meteor when we needed it?
It would have improved the outlook of both Mexico and the U.S.
This Administration is unacceptable and unAmerican.
Obama is siding with another nation’s President against the a state in our own Union.
It is non of Mexico’s business what happens in the U.S.A., and any U.S. government official who sides with Mexico should be forced to resign.
President of the US works with Foreign leader to undermine a US State Governor.
The people in Mexico also are covering widely these happenings, this would have been words that would go over very well with many people whose children or husbands are in the USA sending dough, re...mi back to the ranch. It’s all poltically motivated.
Of course Obama knows the Arizona law mirrors the Federal law, yet there he stands beside the president of a foreign country taking sides with him against his own country and his own Federal law - by any standard, traitorous and lawless behavior.
By siding against the Arizona law that mirrors the Federal law he refuses to enforce, Obama makes his clearest statement to date that he is above the law.
FUBO
This is treason, plain and simple.
Agreeing with the Third World leader who practices the largest ethnic cleansing program in world history.....real brillant
States don't have rights under a dictatorship.
no law abiding person -- be they an American citizen, illegal immigrant,
What part of illegal immigrant does not compute with law abiding person?

Thr brown beret’s sign calls for self-determination. Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t that a third world demand that serves as a precursor to armed rebellion against a colonialist oppressor that is eventually recognized by the UN as an anti-humanitarian regime? Doesn’t it usually result in loss of life and property of the previously law abiding, peaceful and thriving citizens? Isn’t that how the real changes take place? The painful ones the Democrats keep warning US are necessary?
