What a shame. Republicans got their hopes up since some polls showed Burns ahead. Now this looks like a big disaster. If there really were a major GOP wave coming they should have won here. I suspect now they will not take a House majority in Nov. If they gain 30 or so that will be great but it’s not enough.

I did a little googling - and Burns was thought to be a party insider and a RINO. RINOs poison the well. Better off with a real Democrat - it’s easier for the whip to count the votes.

I wouldn’t read too much into this. I never expected Burns to win. This district was owned by Murtha. I was in Pittsburgh the week of his funeral and you would have thought it was Rome the day the Pope died. These people came to his funeral...to stand out in the snow, by the busloads. Conservatives will always be disappointed if they pin their hopes on nitwit PA dem voters.
