Not every one who claims to be a vet, is one. Not every veteran is a hero. Some of them are jerkwater a-holes. Some were f*-offs and slackers in the service, and they are losers now. This cheese ball appears to be one of the latter.

Blumenthal lied about his service and then Blumenthal goes before the press and put up some former service men... and now one of them is also found to have lied about there service

Richard Blumenthal, on more than one occasion, claimed to have served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He did not. He was in the service during that time period, but he was not “in country.” He is a lying sack of excrement.

My son is a VFW member (the real deal, CIB, combat deployments in Iraq, etc.) and he lionized his local VFW Commander, told me he had been a POW in VN. The more he talked about him the more flags that went up, I got his name and started some searches (which is getting easier and more efficient concerning POWs especially), no verification whatsoever.

As I was agonizing about how to break this to my son, the Commander passed away, so realizing that he faces our Lord for that transgression, I backed out quietly.

There's more of this out there than people realize, it's shameful. I urge all vets to retain that wee bit o' skepticism and "trust but verify" and then if fraud is found, then do what's right for those that went before us and face them with it.
