I’m not trying to minimize it, if that’s what you think. But you are painting everything and everyone with a broad brush unfairly. To say that the Church has no place to speak due to what a small portion has done is what’s pathetic.
As far as the Judas comment, I meant that we don’t stop doing what is right even when we are surrounded with sin. The fact that we have some evil sinners and evil enablers doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to preach what is right, and point out what is wrong. The fact that it bothers you that we Catholics continue to do so is just puzzling. I have no idea if this addresses your comment back to me since I didn’t really understand your point.
I feel sorry that you feel this way about the Church, really. Be angry at the sinners (as we Catholics are), but to express what you did.....
To bring it personal.... I’m definitely a Prodigal Daughter. My decades of ignoring God and sinning has no relevance on the fact that I now advocate living a Christian life.
You have seemed to misunderstand my comments.
I am not trashing everyone who is an observing C. And in certain areas I could move in that direction if I wanted to.
You can’t have people promoted to the top position in large regions who have upon finding out what some of their priests did, merely shipped them off to another church to do the same thing.
And when members found out about this, they should have screamed bloody murder from the mountain tops in objection. They didn’t.
And then it took how many years until just recently for the head of this entity to make a focused comment on the shameful nature of what took place, condemning it in no uncertain terms?
I have read in the last few months, where issues are far from resolved on these matters. And in light of that, I said what I did when I first appeared on this thread.
I thought it was a reasoned thing to say when I said it. I think it was reasoned now.
Until this issue is put to rest and every dirt bag that participated in it at some level has been taken to task, it’s a blight on the C entity itself.
Too much is known, and too damned little has been done about it.
My region has one of the worst examples in it’s midst. When you cover for damaged people, you are going to be tainted by stink. It’s just a fact of life.
Clean up that stink, and I’ll quit harping on the subject.
Speak out on similar matters now? Good grief. No sale. People need to get their own house in order before acting as if they have grounds to talk. It’s that simple.
As for your current situation, I hope you resolve that to your own betterment. And having said what I have, I would not urge you to look elsewhere. Just do what you are doing with open eyes. That’s all, and no hidden meaning is intended.
