Lone survivor types always make me chuckle. They overlook obvious logistics issues and believe that certain REQUIRED functions will just magically happen. :-) I had a conversation with one not long ago about this. We live in a semi-rural place and actually DO have enough people on-hand to do things such as stand 24x7 guard. ... so long as too many people don't get sick, or unable to do so. I spoke to him about this very thing and asked him how that was going to work out for him? I asked him what he was going to do if he ran out of ammo or food and supplies. He said he had a large cache buried. I asked him what if some of my people managed to follow him and take it away? He got flustered and really didn't want to talk about it after several minutes. I just couldn't seem to convince the moron that several pairs of hands, feet, eyes, and ears were better than one....MUCH better than one. He was mad by that time and didn't want to talk anymore.

That’s why I feel quite secure in a little town like mine. We have multiple skills, trust, and sense of community.

We’re off the beaten path so I’m not too worried about rabid starving city dwellers wading through the swamps and rivers to overwhelm us.

If things get bad you are not going to make it on your own unless you live on a mountain top and even then it’s iffy. Since I am surrounded by carreer grass hoppers I am having to prepare for EVERYONE, pisses me off but the grass hoppers are my friends too. But I am going to make them pay, big time.

Yep, it’s going to revert to tribalism and there will be a whole lot of different tribes out there... :-)

And yes, you’re right, it does “take a village” ... ummm... sorry, that’s the Democrats line... I mean, “It takes a tribe!” ... LOL ...
