Former First Lady Laura Bush has come out against the Arizona immigration law, pointing to the discrimination that her own Irish ancestors, named Welch, faced in their time.
In an interview with Fox News, Bush said the new law merely showed an upsurge in prejudice similar to what her Irish ancestors faced.

“Whatever! Who cares what Laura thinks?”
You are correct. We will see how many copies of her “fab” book she sells. That should tell us something.
Yes, that is a silver lining.
Thank you.
As far as I am concerned, George W. Bush’s Presidency was one bad dream.
I have Irish immigrant ancestors.
Not only do I have Irish immigrant ancestors in my direct line, one poor little guy, a direct Irish relative (great, great, great, etc., etc., and so on grandfather) came over as an indentured servant.
begs to be answered, DID SHE READ THE BILL?
Thanks, Houghton! Very interesting. You are truly worthy of your screen name.
I actually look latin american
A sincere question to you, Paradox.
What shade of color is a latin?
Me too. English was my second language and I live in AZ and support the law.
As I posted in a different thread, we should contact Fox News and warn them that if they ever have Laura Bush on for another interview again that well stop watching Fox News altogether.
My Polish ancestors weren’t treated any better, but I whole-heartedly support the Arizona Law.
bttt
"Hey Laura, stay off of this stuff *mimes drinking*, That's the curse of you people."
Hopefully you have increasing numbers of people who are waking up in this country and who agree with you!!! I never had any faith in Laura from the start but she really is out of the closet now!!
Beginning to think it was Laura who influenced President Bush to go in the wrong direction—several times.
The entire Bush clan, starting with Prescott Bush, are liberals who regret liberalism's (necessary) destruction of the conservative lifestyle or conservative values.
Except for rhetorical tropes and some engagement with evangelical Christianity, THERE WAS NOTHING CONSERVATIVE ABOUT PRESIDENT BUSH EXCEPT HIS MANNERS.
More to come from the New World Order Bushes!
But, but....they look so conservatively REGAL in all those Bush cult worshiper photo ops...
On one side of the family, my Mexican ancestors were here way back when New Mexico and Arizona were a territory. On the other side of the family, my great grandparents had to have a sponsor to come here. I am very much for this law and love my state.
She is as damned dumb as the rest of that family. Laura, take W and Jeb and the rest of your progressive clan and crawl back under the rock you came from.
What people have a problem with are people coming over here with no interest in becoming a legal citizen(they might have to pay taxes-gasp), and reaping the benefits of this great nation. We have to regulate how many people are made citizens because we cannot simply allow floods of people into the country because the amount of space in our country is finite. They are coming over here and taking jobs that our people need, they are committing crimes, sucking off the system, you name it.
A great example is a family in my neighborhood. The husband is not a citizen. I couldn't even tell you his status because his wife is less than honest in that regard(something about her just needing to sign parers for him?). Anyway, they have 4 kids and are on every government program they can be on(wic, food stamps, free school lunch for kids, medicaid, etc)because he has an apparent work allergy. He did have a decent job but blew it. He has been out of work for almost two years. He just started working again somewhere(unemployment probably wore off).
So my point is this. If you are going to be a low life dead beat good for nothing slob, do it in your own damned country. We have enough of our own citizens that like to do that. Don't come over here, hook up with some other idiot and proceed to have 4 kids that you don't really feel like supporting!
