P.S. Looks like Hot Air has begun it's move from "warning" Chuck DeVore to full-blown wobbling. Freepers need to be prepared that they will likely switch endorsements to Fiorina soon, and might not be alone in doing so.

I would agree with the point of the article if Carly were that much better than Campbell.
I realize that she has positioned herself to his right, but that strikes me as more pose than conviction. And if thats the case, then I’d rather vote my convictions, DeVore, and let the chips fall.

They have it wrong. Campbell is ahead because he is the not-Carly. People don’t want her. Campbell is well known and has run and lost the Senate race twice before. If conservatives stand and back DeVore he can win. If Carly wins the primary, she will lose in November. Too many people in CA have worked for HP or know someone who has.
Chuck’s next ad should say, “I’m Chuck DeVore. I’m not Carly and I’m certainly not Tom Campbell who supports gay marriage and doesn’t support Israel.” People don’t personally dislike Campbell like many do Carly and most have forgotten his liberal positions and need to be reminded.

What's sad and frustrating is that no one wants to talk about Campbell. If conservatives spent their time and effort attacking Campbell rather than wasting it on Palin and Carly, then Campbell would decline in the polls.
Brilliant strategy there. Yeah, let's get into a pissing match with the 2nd place candidate and we can argue over who's more conservative, while the real liberal Republican takes the high road and is on the verge of winning. In fact, what DeVore should have done is completely ignore Carly. Just pretend it's a two-man race between you and Campbell. You attack the lead dog, not fight over sloppy seconds.

The real comparison should be between any-conservative and Campbell, who,[....] has an extremely dubious history of support for radical Islamist and anti-Israeli groups, ideologues, and activists that may give Barbara Boxer an opening she doesn’t deserve, and that in any event many conservatives will find difficult to forgive and forget.Conservatives that care about Israel will vote for Boxer over Campbell.
