I know and have interacted with many people who grew up in communist countries. Many of them were there for most of their lives. Among them there is no shortage of self-interested personal gain survival of the fittest attitude. I’m quite confident you would see the same if you went to any socialist country and witnessed life their personally.

No matter what political/economic system people live under, there will be inequality and divisions in how people live and what they have. Under capitalism these inequalities and divisions can be primarily based on your efforts, talents, and productivity. Under socialism, communism, or any other system I know of the inequalities are based on how good you are at being political, manipulative, dishonest, or how connected you are. Capitalism protects individuals and their self-determination better than ANY other system, and therefore it is the most humane of all systems.

I’m sick of journalism majors trying to tell the rest of the world how to live.

I haven't been to any communist countries, but I spent three years in Germany where socialism reigns. That was enough for me.

However, in retrospect, this country is really reminding me of those days in Germany.

The current occupant of the Oval Office is the "one" we were always warned about in the 50's and 60's; the one who would come along and slick-talk himself into power, and to take us toward communism - all socialism is, is "communist-lite".

The chia pets in our society have been brainwashed into believing that their "plight" is American democracy and that socialism/communism is their "way out".

Sometimes I think stupidity may be a virtue...all the chia pets do is party on OPM (other peoples' money) and make new chia pets to be raised wtih OPM.

Meanwhile, we sit around wringing our hands at the demise of freedom and democracy in America.

But in the end, the partying will be over, and so will America...so REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER.
