I haven't been to any communist countries, but I spent three years in Germany where socialism reigns. That was enough for me.

However, in retrospect, this country is really reminding me of those days in Germany.

The current occupant of the Oval Office is the "one" we were always warned about in the 50's and 60's; the one who would come along and slick-talk himself into power, and to take us toward communism - all socialism is, is "communist-lite".

The chia pets in our society have been brainwashed into believing that their "plight" is American democracy and that socialism/communism is their "way out".

Sometimes I think stupidity may be a virtue...all the chia pets do is party on OPM (other peoples' money) and make new chia pets to be raised wtih OPM.

Meanwhile, we sit around wringing our hands at the demise of freedom and democracy in America.

But in the end, the partying will be over, and so will America...so REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER.

You are so right about November, and I absolutely agree with your comment about ‘communism lite’. One of the big problems is that we've let the left define the terms of the debate. They control and effectively turn off debate with a variety of tactics. Raise concerns about socialism/communism and they call it ‘McCarthyism’. Speak about the unfairness of illegal aliens receiving taxpayer dollars and you are labeled as ‘anti-immigrant’, or ‘xenophobic’, or ‘bigoted’, or ‘heartless’, etc. The list goes on and on.

The effectiveness of these tactics cannot be underestimated. There are so many things that are accepted as ‘gospel’ by much of the public because they don't question the accuracy or integrity of what passes for ‘mainstream’ in this country at this point in history. I was talking to a somewhat liberal friend recently about the MSM. He totally buys into the ‘Fox news is biased’ argument and thinks that CNN is really balanced. Why, because that's what pop culture tells him to believe. Actually, he's conservative in many, many of his personal positions, but voted for Obama because he bought into the characterization of Obama as ‘mainstream’ by the media.

The only way to effectively fight this is to never concede or leave unchallenged any of the ridicule and propaganda of the left. The left needs to be effectively labeled as anti-intellectual and laughed at. Seriously. The ridicule of common sense positions has to stop, and this 'ridicule' has to be turned right back around at the left.
