WASHINGTON -- The really amazing thing about the ongoing po litical purge we are seeing across the country is the genuine shock and hurt felt by the ousted.
Pink-slipped in a West Virginia primary Tuesday, 14-term Congressman Alan Mollohan cried, "Right-wing smears!"
It is like they still don't get the anger, frustration and weariness voters have with self-obsessed Washington, pandering politicians and the big, fat, dumb federal government.
This is especially true of Democrats around here, who are riding high on so much euphoria from President Obama's historic victory. They actually thought it was true love.
As if American voters lost all their wits and suddenly embraced soft liberalism and bigger government.
What actually happened in 2008 -- and Obama brilliantly tapped into this -- was not an embrace of Democrats but a rejection of Washington and the government. It was the "change," stupid!
As it happened at that time, Republicans were still the face of Washington and had been for a long time. So it was Republicans that voters so swiftly dumped.

“So it was Republicans that voters so swiftly dumped.”
In so doing, the idiot voters sold their soul to the devil.
Sadly, it may very well be a one way ticket to Hell.
As if American voters lost all their wits and suddenly embraced soft liberalism and bigger government.
No, it's a little bit about being a Republican or a Democrat as long as being a Republican means being AGAINST "soft liberalism and bigger government."
Congressman Alan Mollohan: It was not the vast right wing conspiracy-It was your support of bad Dem legislation.
To the rest of the Dems-It’s too late to apologize, It’s just too late.
No, it is about being the incumbant. Pubbies are every bit as much the problem as their Dimmie counterparts.
The Republican leadership still does not get it. Their establishmentarianism is counterpoint to Democrat statism. Both ideologies need to go.
No, it’s about liberalism and big Gov (as I said). We are in violent agreement here. If a Republican embraces that, they’re in trouble. If a Republican rejects that, they’re not in trouble. If it were just about being an incumbent, then voters would just be crazy and illogical and that’s something the Democrats want you to believe when they try to dismiss it as just being anti-incumbent.
Amen. ;0)
“Obama Crush Was Never True Love”
They knew about Mr. Ayres. They knew about attendance at a church that espoused vicious anti-American hatred. They knew about the proposed national security force that would be “just as well organized and financed as the military”.
They knew about the re-distribution of wealth, about ties to violent, extreme left-wing organizations. They saw the videos of the “Obama youth” chanting the benefits of Obama, and they saw the young children singing the praises of Obama by way of a song written by rabid Obama supporters.
Love affair? Nah. Just the promise of a flurry of dollars, no matter how acquired, was the “love affair”; the satisfying villification of the “rich” and the destructive elements of envy applied by willing representatives elected by a hateful population, who were manipulated into thinking they were intellectual giants by a psychotic press.
(And watch them all vote the same way in November.)
IMHO

True, South Carolina has two republican senators, Demint is winning national respect while Graham is winning national derision. If both were on the ballot this year Demint would probably be reelected in a landslide while Graham might very well be voted out.
Let’s not leave out the corruption and nepotism either.
You and I knew about those things! Be aware that a huge percentage of Obama voters seem to have been totally UNAWARE of most or all of that and many still seem to be unaware. I was amazed during the election at how many people seemed to not know basic things such as that he had a white mother or that his alleged father was not an American. It is dangerous to underestimate the average voter’s capacity to remain totally ignorant in the midst of an information overload.
A huge percentage of Obama voters, probably a majority even cannot tell you the century when the American civil war was fought, that’s right I said CENTURY, not years. Many or most could not tell you what the American Revolution even was, let alone what the issues were or when it happened or what country we fought against. Mention a name like Cornwallis or Tarleton and they probably think you are naming cigarette brands.
Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt....
Wellll... I'm not convinced they haven't. We'll know by midnight of the first Tuesday night in November exactly what kind of country we are.
“It is dangerous to underestimate the average voter’s capacity to remain totally ignorant in the midst of an information overload.”
It is equally dangerous to think of the average voter as a kindergartener in adult’s clothing.
They know exactly what they’re about and they know where the current crop of revolutionary Democrats wants to lead them.
(respectfully), IMHO
That's the rub.. they don't CARE. The facts and details don't matter to them. What matters to them is that 0bama IS. To them, what he says is truth and all else is right-wing lies.
To us clear-thinking and pragmatic folk, the idea of an 0bama presidency is abhorrent, because we know what he stands for. We know he's a not-so-closeted Marxist who wants to fundamentally and radically change this country on the Euro-socialist model.
The libs see 0bama as this transformation figure who would rise Messiah-like over us all and create a milk-and-honey, post-racial, and frankly post-America, one-world utopia. To them, 0bama is not a political leader; rather he's their guiding light of their faith. In a cult-like trance, they hang on his every word as gospel; some faint while others' faces stream with tears. Look at the close-up pics of his followers in the crowd shots from the 2008 campaign. These people look like they've found manna from Heaven when they cast their eyes on 0bama.
Very, very weird.
I certainly hope so, but I have learned not to underestimate the stupidity of at least 48% of the voters in this country. Further, while I'd like to see him take a beating in 2012, but currently I don't see anyone who can pull in the votes on the GOP side to knock him off.
