tourism leaders and hoteliers fear they could lose a sizable chunk of business this summer from valued Zonies who are so angered by elected leaders recent censure of Arizona for its illegal-immigration law that theyre mounting an informal boycott of their own.
The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau and several hotels report receiving e-mails and letters from Arizona visitors saying they intend to change their plans to travel here in light of local outcry over their home states anti-illegal-immigration stance.
Tourism officials are striking back. In an open letter, they urge Arizona residents to overlook local politics and come to San Diego just as they always have for its mild climate, beaches and attractions. The visitors bureau, in conjunction with the San Diego County Hotel-Motel Association, plans to circulate the letter to media outlets and in advertising this weekend in The Arizona Republic.

LOL. I am starting to love Arizona!!! Man payback bites don't it??? I have a suggestion for AZ's Gov if this continues......refuse to sell anymore electricity to the comrades in Cali. You boycott AZ - fine - sit in the dark.

Maybe there are some non-stupid people in Arizona.
Did the Caliphate not think they might get boycotted right back?

Before my parents died, they lived in Lake Havasu and I know THEY were part of a group that toured, gambled, spent money and enjoyed retirement.
Zonies? and Floridians are a formidable voting bloc

I still don’t know why Brewer doesn’t sign an executive order prohibiting the disbursement of state funds to companies headquartered in these municipalities that have announced boycotts. It seems to me LA is in MUCH worse financial shape than AZ. And, I bet that there are A LOT of LA based companies doing business with the state of AZ.

Haha! San Diego is more dependent on AZ tourism than vice-versa. SD hurts itself when it shows disrespect towards AZ.

The only idiots who read that commie rag are the liberals. Maybe they can give a ride to some of the illegals leaving our "evil" state.

I go over there every year in June for some dog shows. I stay at the local hotel, spend money etc. I’m not going this year. No way would I feel safe in a van with Arizona plates in San Diego under the circumstances and no way would I feel safe taking my much loved dog over there.

This is one topic I happen to agree with you on. Don’t understand it either.
Last report I saw Cali buys 20-25% of its electricity needs from Arizona. One stroke of Brewer’s pen could end that overnight - OUCH - that would hurt the commies far worse than any lefty boycotts of AZ would hurt AZ. Plus, it would send a powerful message to not mess with the sovereignty of a neighboring state.
To: conservativegramma
All conservatives should boycott San Diego and Austin.

You bet! I won't step foot in that illegal infested state anymore. If it was up to me I'd slap tariff's on the water and electric that we supply to them to make up for their boycotts..
