No, he was an absolute success. He was the front man for the globalists.
He brought us zero.
He's a pseudo christian, drunken coke-head playboy, from a miserably rotten family.
When that bastard was first nominated most people around here went ballistic
including people in high places, if you know what I mean.
The puppetmasters trot out Kerry, and suddenly Shrub grows a halo.
It's all bullshit.
Kaslin,
Not sure who you meant this for, but I haven’t spoken to you about doing/not doing anything. “Who do (I) think (I) am?” Not the person you are angry at.
LLS
Agree 100%.
“She was sandbagged.
The answer is being taken and used out of context to indicate support for this particular candidate.”
Not having read the article, this was my first thought (WHY I didn’t read the article). Knowing how the media play, and knowing Lady Laura, these were my thoughts too.
“I am sorry I answered a ping to this thread. There are some very unpleasant and irrational people here.
“
Like you that think because she is a Republican she can do no wrong? That’s what I thought.
This attitude by the Bush’s is part of the reason “The Divine One” and his apostles have been inflicted upon America. They could just remain “SILENT!”
Bless your heart...do you really think anybody cares what you care about?
Narcissist alert!
I think this is partly why we have the tea party. And I agree with you. The last election was awful. I was for Bush all the way too.
Please do not ping me to Bush trashing threads. Thank you!
The truth is, even some who are deep into politics don't search for any deeper meaning than the quick sound bites and surface issues. To do so is time consuming and increases your blood pressure and leads to an early death if you don't keep it in check. Woman have traditionally opted to delegate the deep thinking about politics to men. It's easier especially if you want to raise children without deep anxiety.
I'm sorry but it is a view taken by many of our weak sisters. I know many of them and I call them friends...but they are wrong.
All that aside, I still respect Laura for not interfering with GW's Presidency.
I don’t think alcohol was just a problem for her hubby.
Mrs Bush confined herself to promoting the the rights of Afghan women, working for literacy, and representing this nation with dignity.
There can be no disagreement there. The sight of thuggish men beating burka clad women with sticks in Afghanistan, still rankles in this corner. I would however like to offer a theory which has been mentioned on the Rush Limbaugh show. I am taking a liberty, but will try to be as accurate as I can.
Mr Limbaugh warned of the blandishments of polite and affable liberals. He said that he almost got caught once. There is within most people an inner desire to be liked. There seems to be a temporary satisfaction in gaining their approbation. Afterward, some conservatives may realise they were used. Mrs Bush is a lovely lady and deserves credit for bringing up two daughters, a challenging task, as I myself well know.
I ask myself if she wanted to be liked by persons, who may well have steered clear of vitriol against her. That vitriol was reserved for her husband. The liberals may have been smart. They may have sensed a public outrage, if they tried their hateful spin on the then First Lady.
We know that conservative after conservative has tempered their conservatism after being in close contact with liberals. So called conservatives on the MSM being now in good graces.
One can only imagine the steely resolve of Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin. See the way Elizabeth Hasselback has been literally stomped into conformity on that hateful show- The View. Limbaugh has warned again and again, not to try to be liked by liberals. A heavy price will be paid for this.
Yeah, her interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday this morning made me cringe. Especially when she said "I'm OK with gay marriage..." :-(
Have you all just now learned that every one of the 6 billion human beings on the planet has their own mind? No two human beings agree 100% on anything, ever. Simply because someone has a different opinion than you about a topic -- any topic -- does not make you superior and them inferior. It does not make you good and them bad. Long about the time kids turn 5 or so, they usually learn that lesson. Too bad all of you didn't.
Laura Bush is one of the most gracious, classiest, kindest women this country has been fortunate enough to have as its First Lady. During her husband's political career she did the appropriate thing and largely stayed out of policy matters, carefully keeping her opinions private. She is now a private citizen, as is her husband, and she enjoys First Amendment protections just as the rest of you do. Grow up, act like adults, and deal with it.
After taking a second look at the question, you are right. Laura wasn't asked what she thought of Kagan, she was asked what she thought of another "woman".
I am upset about her views on abortion and gay marriage, but I'm not going to compond the problem.
I never thought of LB as a “deep thinker” just a “nice” person, and undoubtedly the “compassionate” influence of the Compassionate Conservative philosophy. Doesn’t change my opinion of her, but rather makes me respect the fact that she did not foist her views on us publicly.
Funny how now, all-of-a-sudden, it isn’t Cheney that was running Bush, but rather Laura. IMO they both had influence, but hers was more to temper Cheney’s rougher edges, not determine policy.
Laura Bush is a very lovely lady, but I don’t agree with her on a few issues. Her stand on abortion is awful and I don’t think she’s looking at Kagan on issues/ideology....but rather the mere fact that she’s female. This is NOT how to make a good decision.
If you don't like it, then stay the hell off!
I hope I live long enough to never have to hear from a Bush or a Clinton again.
