Legendary CBS News anchor Walter Cronkite allegedly collaborated with anti-Vietnam War activists in the 1960s, going so far as to offer advice on how to raise the public profile of protests and even pledging CBS News resources to help pull off events, according to FBI documents obtained by Yahoo! News.
The documents, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, say that in November 1969, Cronkite encouraged students at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., to invite Maine Sen. Edmund Muskie to address a protest they were planning near Cape Kennedy (now known as Cape Canaveral). Cronkite told the groups leader that Muskie would be nearby for a fundraiser on the day of the protest, and said that CBS would rent [a] helicopter to take Muskie to and from site of rally, according to the documents.
The claims are contained in an FBI memo recounting a confidential informants report on a November 1969 meeting of a Rollins College protest group called Youth for New America. The group was planning rallies near Cape Kennedy on Nov. 13 and 14 the latter being day of the Apollo 12 launch from Cape Kennedy, which President Nixon would be attending as part of a nationwide Moratorium to End the War in Vietnam. That protest action culminated in a huge march on Washington on Nov. 15.

In on the plan. Given Chronkite's date of birth ((November 4, 1916), my guess he was in on the plan since at least the late 1930's.
We already knew which side Cronkite was on. What I find interesting is that CBS provided a helicopter to facilitate the creation of news.
Uncle Walter and the rest of Left can share responsibity for the three million people killed by the Communists in SE Asia after the fall of Saigon in April, 1975, as well as the boat people who died on the high seas trying to escape “Paradise”.
Yup! Cronkite was a real scumbag. A lot of American blood was shed in Vietnam, both before and after the horrendous evacuation of our embassy there.
Not one of the leftist vermin who played a role in the withdrawal ever mentioned that result of their efforts to end the war.
Cronkite was a liar and in my humble opinion, caused the deaths of many Americans in Vietnam. Someday I’d like to pee on his grave.

My question is, are they in on the plan to destroy America, or are they just useful idiots?and this is different from today, how?The MSM is the left. period.
"The MSM" is the heritage of the telegraph. The telegraph, and the Associated Press.Without "the wire," newspapers from the founding era to the Civil War era were fundamentally about the opinion of the printer - much like National Review and so forth. Indeed, newspapers were usually weeklies, and some didn't have a deadline at all, but just went to press when the printer was good and ready.
With the AP, or any other newswire, the paper is about "hard news" - things that you didn't have any way of knowing about because they happened too recently, and you didn't have electronic communications except whatever you got from the newswire via the local newspaper. The thing is, the news service is expensive - and only useful if you trust the authors of the stories which come over the wire. So to make money with the AP or Reuters, a newspaper has to promote the fatuous idea that journalism is objective.
And that homogenizes journalism. The editorial page of the paper is a ghetto of frank opinion, and one of its main functions is to "position" the rest of the paper as not being a matter of opinion but of fact. But as Benjamin Franklin put it, "Half the truth is often a great lie." And the portion of the truth selected by journalism is superficial ("there's nothing more worthless than yesterday's newspaper"), negative ("If it bleeds, it leads"), and unrepresentative of what usually happens ("'Man Bites Dog,' not 'Dog Bites Man'"). And, not to put too fine a point on it, calculated to cast the journalist as hero
Of course, it's a lot easier and safer to be a "hero" if you pick on "villains" who do not in fact pose any real danger. So journalism picks nice safe "villains" like the businessman, the policeman, and the soldier who is under civilian rule, and accuses him of malfeasance. Don't look for journalists to take on actual terrorists, tho - what, you think they're crazy? You could get hurt that way. So ultimately it is natural for journalists to behave like socialists, and promote socialism. "Liberal" politiicans simply join in the action, for fun and profit. They don't have to be really smart or effective, because they are cooperating with journalists to bully and second guess those who take responsibility of working to a bottom line.
The most trusted man in America collaborated with anti-Vietnam War activists in the 1960s...”
And that’s the way it is . . . Saturday, May 15, 2010
I think you are right on the money
But, of course, the media worships him as one of their own--a celebrated member of a family spawned by the "father of lies".
Before he died he was calling for world government.
Uncle Walter a “Closet Commie”? This is my Surprised face. :0
Walter "North Vietnamese Communists' Most Trusted Man in America" Cronkite collaborated with anti-Vietnam War, pro-Ho activists?
Gee.. I thought all the "newsmen" did like that was hand out red, blue, and yellow "protest banners" to the anti-Vietnam War, pro-Ho demonstrators who didn't think to bring their Viet Cong flags with them to the anti-U.S. military demonstration.
Uh.. color TV was new.. yeah that's why -- and the "newsmen" wanted color. Yeah. Color. It had nothing to do with their feeeeeeeeeeeeelings against America.
I AGREE, I WILL GET A TREE YOU BRING A ROPE.
Oh my word! I had to look up the Charles Kuralt thing — I had no idea. Am I terrible if, even though I know it was immoral, just a tiny bit of me thinks it a bit romantic, kind of like _Bridges of Madison County_? But why did the schmuck have to let his wife find out after he died?! Poor woman.
Crazy Uncle Wally was even a bigger steaming pile than I thought.
In short, these so-called "anti-war" (actually PRO-COMMUNIST) groups wanted the VietCong to defeat us in Vietnam!

FBI Files: Walter Cronkite Collaborated With Anti-War Activists
MAY 15, 2010
"[Redacted] told group he had been to CBS Channel Six in Orlando prior to meeting to speak to newsmen about Vietnam moratorium activities. [Redacted] related that while at TV station, Walter Cronkite, nationally known radio and television commentator, spoke to him by telephone for approximately forty five minutes and that Cronkite reportedly told [redacted] that CBS would have thirty six hours of coverage on Vietnam moratorium with 'open mike' to give demonstrators a chance to be heard."
"The claims are contained in an FBI memo recounting a confidential informant's report on a November 1969 meeting of a Rollins College protest group called Youth for New America. The group was planning rallies near Cape Kennedy on Nov. 13 and 14 [1969] the latter being day of the Apollo 12 launch from Cape Kennedy, which President Nixon would be attending as part of a nationwide Moratorium to End the War in Vietnam. Now here's something I discovered about 6 years ago
Re: "Vietnam Moratorium":
"In 1970 and 1971, [John] Kerry's VVAW [Vietnam Veterans Against the War] co-sponsored rallies with the Vietnam Moratorium Committee, Students for a Democratic Society, the Young Socialist Alliance, the Student Mobilization Committee, the New Mobilization Committee and the Black Panther Party".
Vietnam Moratorium Committee (VMC)
The VMC held huge rallies throughout the country from 1969 to 1972 where thousands of demonstrators waved the flags of America's Viet Cong Communist enemies and carried posters of North Vietnamese Communist dictator Ho Chi Minh.
"Ho, Ho, Ho Chi Minh! The Viet Cong are going to win!" was the repeated chant of the VMC demonstrators.
(John Kerry's sister Peggy was deeply involved as a volunteer for the VMC [Vietnam Moratorium Committee]).
At a VMC rally on November 15, 1969 at the Justice Department in Washington, protesters broke windows, threw paint on the building, lowered the U.S. flag and attempted unsuccessfully to replace it with a Viet Cong flag.
After police dispersed the violent demonstrators with tear gas, bands of the protesters roamed the city causing damage to numerous businesses. As a result of the VMC's "peaceful" demonstration, 606 people were injured, including 26 police officers. Later VMC rallies in 1970, 1971 and 1972 were equally violent.

And from WinterSoldier.com:
June, 1970 -- Kerry joins Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW), a national veterans group that is part of the Peoples Coalition for Peace and Justice. The PCPJ is a broad coalition of local and national organizations, including the Communist Party, USA, "committed to conducting demonstrations aimed at ending the war in Indochina, and poverty, racism and injustice at home." The VVAW, CCI and PCPJ all have headquarters at 156 Fifth Avenue in New York City. VVAW Executive Secretary Al Hubbard, a former Black Panther, is also on the coordinating committee of the PCPJ. Hubbard soon appoints Kerry to the VVAW's Executive Committee, bypassing the normal election process.

Fact: The Black Panthers were revolutionary communists...
From the Maoist Internationist Movement:
[1960s/original] Black Panther Party [BPP] Archives
From the article: REVOLUTIONARY HEROS
"On May 1st, May Day [1969], the day of the gigantic Free Huey rally, two of Alioto's top executioners vamped on the brothers from the Brown Community who were attending to their own affairs. These brothers, who are endowed with the revolutionary spirit of the Black Panther Party defended themselves from the racist pig gestapo [i.e., the police].
Pig Joseph Brodnik received his just reward with a big hole in the chest. Pig Paul McGoran got his in the mouth which was not quite enough to off him.
The revolutionary brothers escaped the huge swarm of pigs with dogs, mace, tanks and helicopters, proving once again that "the spirit of the people is greater than the man's technology."
To these brothers the revolutionary people of racist America want to say, by your revolutionary deed you are heroes, and that you are always welcome to our camp."

November 22, 1970 -- During a fund-raising tour for GI deserters, Vietnam Veterans Against the War and the Black Panthers, Jane Fonda is quoted in the Detroit Free Press as telling a University of Michigan audience:
"I would think that if you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would someday become communist," and "The peace proposal of the Viet Cong is the only honorable, just, possible way to achieve peace in Vietnam."

True. Cronkite was a traitor, and his lies tore this country apart.
