Via Ace, whose post you should read if only for the brilliance of his headline.
Some of you will be tempted twice over to skip this: Its long, and youve already seen the most dramatic bit. Dont skip it.
Force yourself through it, because it happens to be one of the most genuinely depressing clips ever posted on Hot Air.
Everything about this is an utter, unmitigated disgrace the attack on Vilks, the excruciating passivity of most of the crowd, the sheer thuggery of these shrieking, lunatic, barbarian bastards, and of course the killer moment at around 8:45 when they win.
Do note, too, how the Aggrieved alternate between vicious threats and civil rights, warning the cops against brutality and reminding them that they pay taxes too.
Thats a familiar pattern nine years after 9/11. Theyd have torn Vilks apart with their bare hands if they could have but theyre all about proper procedure, you see.
Its almost not worth noting the media double standard applied to violence by sympathetic groups versus unsympathetic groups, but Ace did note it so go read his post. Needless to say, everyone associated with the decision to stop the film should be fired immediately.

omg. ..on last post. Can only say ‘sleep matters’/sigh.
Does the “artist” who made piss-Christ live in fear for his life? In hiding against the constant threat of assasination?
How about “vagina and manure Mary?”
No, they don’t because Islam is unique in its murderous madness.
Islam is an insane murder cult, the rest is PR designed to lull the West to sleep during the Trojan Horse invasion.
Well said, it seems the vile film was played to provoke a response and half the audience was there to oblige.
Again; no question as to it being provocative; but it was telling a truth that speaks to a much darker side of Islam.
Geert Wilders tells the truth as well (as has Mark Steyn and many others) and is held in Legal contempt in his own Country. He has risked his life and the security of his family to stand for justice and truth and 'freedom'. The decisions by his trial; and the Elections in the Netherlands will write his future and that of this country.
Theo Van Gogh was slaughtered, as they promised - like a pig - on the steets of Amsterdam. The response save for a few friends, including the bravest, Geert Wilders - was much like the zero response of the 'furniture-people' in this video. These seeimingly 'sleepy', and so pathetic people, glued to their seats; expressions appearing vaccuous; their postures indifferent to what is going on around them, certainly appear unmoved by the hostilities. OTOH. . .figure they were there to learn something (?) or. . .maybe free coffee was to be served?
Sadly, these people as well; mirror much of what we see througout Europe and certainly, painfully, right here in our Country! An apparaent anesthetization by political correctness!
Even if this was the most deliberate 'piss Christ' MO. . .so what? That exhibition was not closed down; and the artist of the urine 'art' is still walking free and safe on the our city streets. . .
Enough with dhimmi responses and attitudes! These will kill us as surely - albeit a bit more slowly - than the many knives of the jihadist.
As for the Left "deserving" these Islamists. . .they have long been in 'bed together' - if only by their sharing their totalitarian world view' - and earlier in history, their nazi visions for Europe, et al.
Vilks as challenger, moves out of their league altogether; if in fact he ever was in it to begin with. Have no knowledge of his political associations; but we do know what model he wants to prevail in his Country; and no doubt the rest of the West/world/ as well. This moves him far from 'the LEFT'.
Again, think we must be as clear; and as provocative; and damn the PC that prevent us from going there.
These 'people' calling the police 'pigs'; demanding in 'their name' and 'Allah's that this 'must stop' - no matter the material - is altoghether a disgusting scene. It is a grim warning however. - but surely not as grim as what will follow.
Again, do not even know the 'video' shown; save that it appears not dissimilar in topic, to that offered - briefly - by CBS 'Frontline'.
Had the film been 'Fitna'. . .or Obsession. . .or even a reading from Mark Steyn's 'America Alone'. . .or a page from any book written by a courageous Muslim dissident or just a review from a blog, telling of the latest atrocity, committed in Allah's name; the response would have been the same.
I can understand feeling that way, but I think it's going too far. You can be provocative and tell truths -- that's what Wilders and Steyn and the others you mention do -- without crossing the line into being gratuitously offensive.
Rather than a few people being offensive, what we need are a lot of people who understand that Western civilization needs to stand up for itself. We shouldn't reduce ourselves to using the left's methods.
Of course it would have. Which is why using gay porn imagery was gratuitous.
Yay!!!! One sensible person on the thread.
It seems like anything the Muslims do gets our knee-jerk condemnation. As badly as they behaved, and as backward as they showed themselves to be (”I told him to stop! Why didn’t he stop!”), the fact is that the film was guaranteed to incite a strong reaction.
The Muslims went over the top with it, and I have NO CLUE why they were there anyway. If someone was showing a gay porn Jesus movie, I think the best way to handle it is to insure the theater is EMPTY by nobody going to see the piece of dung.
Just another way the Muslims are backward, I think. Rather than stay far away, they went there to get in the film makers face.
Bad behavior all around.
