FWIW, I gather from comments from Jersey Freepers Christie was a bit of an unknown quantity but stood head and shoulders above anyone else in the running. I also gather he has moved more to the right since taking office, in particular re killing the unborn and gun rights. I have to assume he came to the realization conservatives put him in office and a new day is dawning. He may be better at reading tea leaves than some of his contemporaries.

Hugo once wrote that there’s nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come. Well, we have the idea simply articulated by a man with balls, unlike Arnold and McCain. I’m sick of namby pamby, get-a-long sissies. This guy just established his bona fides. No doubt about it, Christie is presidential timber.
I just hope he doesn't follow in Christine Todd Whitman's footsteps and go from a promising Republican leader to a RINO. Only time will tell, but so far, so good ...

I voted for that guy with all the enthusiasm of going to the dentist. I was betting once he started governing he'd wimp out on everything and try to make friends (like Whitman and Kean) with the criminal cabal that's been running this state for forty years.

Loved the video. This is exactly what the GOP and this country need: More elected conservatives willing to unashamedly take a stand. So much for the whole ‘only moderate Republicans can win in the Northeast’ argument.

It’s all just great until you’re wife comes home from her public school teaching job—for which I say no one is more qualified for— and tells you she got the pink slip.
She was one of those alternate path teachers who got laid off, then worked and attended (bullsh!t make work) classes to secure the right to apply for a job she was already qualified for.
