Google hides Obama's Social Security Number story

Internet giant Google today was hushing up the new dispute over President Obama's strange Social Security number by diverting searches for news reports on the issue to unrelated stories about Elena Kagan, oil, Tampa and the Federal Reserve.

The actual story, posted on WND.com, explained how two private investigators – working independently – are asking why Obama is using a Social Security number set aside for applicants in Connecticut while there is no record he ever had a mailing address in the state.

Under a Google news search for "President Obama Social Security number," the top four results all quoted, "By Jerome R. Corsi Two private investigators working independently are asking why President Obama is using aSocial Security number set aside for applicants…"

However, the first link is to Politico's story about "Gay rights central to Elena Kagan fight," the second links to Politico's "Senate clears measure to audit Federal Reserve" story, the third links to a Politico story about the GOP plans for a convention in Tampa in 2012, and the last links to a Politico story about "Oil executives play pass the buck."

Google spokesman Jake Hubert told WND that it appeared to be a "bug in the snippets."

He said the company was looking into it.

Where exactly is the CT SSN being used? Why not some screenshots or an explanation of where it’s being actually used? The page referenced in the WND says it’s unavailable to search now (The Selective Service database).

Funny I get the story right at the top of a search: “obama social security Connecticut” and 367,000 other hits. World Nut Daily is such a waste of bandwidth anymore.

No it isn’t....I was wondering if you or your wife immigrated and then got a soc sec number....that’s all....don’t get all uppity....those who are born here don’t usually go in and CHOOSE their Soc Sec Numbers....which based upon your comment is what it sounded like your wife did....sorry if you think that’s stupid...I’m just trying to understand. Where exactly is the CT SSN being used?

That's always been my question about this story. I can believe that whatever databases WND's investigators searched came up with a bunch of SSNs for names like "Barack Obama." But I also know that those kinds of databases are riddled with errors--for example, Zabasearch has a Michelle E. Obama born in 1964 and a Michelle L. Obama born in 1963, both living at the same Chicago address. I'd like to know if there's any evidence Obama has actually "used" any of these SSNs, to eliminate the possibility that it's just dirty databases.

What is interesting is that I searched on Zabasearch for "Barack Obama," and got results for Michelle. I wonder what that's about.

I was just taken by how easy it was to get. Two bored boys age 12-13 going in with a cert. No photo id in fact I think that was all I had at the time. I could have went to all “57” of the states collecting numbers for years. If he is willing to spend 3m to cover all this up there must be fire. The longer this is before the public the more believers there are. That is a known fact of human nature. They should use aka before his name.
