Los Angeles boycotting Arizona. Maybe we should just boycott Hollywood for a few months.

With all of the news about boycotts of Arizona it occurs to me that the ones boycotting are chiefly in the entertainment business. Baseball, Basketball, the Hollywood crowd, etc. etc. Maybe if in May, June and July we didn't go to any movies or any professional athletic events they would get the picture. Unemployment is still at 10% and the cost of illegals is constantly being paid for by the middle class. The cost of education, health care and police protection all rise and are all supported by us, the "little people". But we the masses also support the movie and sports industry. It's time for those folks to get on board and help us out for once, instead of calling us racists and bigots. Maybe if they understand it is our money that supports all of this they'll finally get the message.

If an artist offends me, I don't buy their product. When Stephen King trashed Christians and Prolife Supporters in "Insomnia," I quit reading his work. Later, he insulted Soldiers while speaking to High School students by implying Soldiers are illiterate.

A musician or writer does not necessarily have to be a Christian or conservative for me to purchase their products. In fact, I'm off a certain Christian fiction author because he sucked up to Muslims in a recent non fiction book.

I also avoid businesses and corporations that support Politicians and Movements with whom I disagree. A few years ago, Miller Beer ran an ad that showed Jesus and his Disciples at the last supper wearing bondage/leather clothing. The table was strewn with sex toys. The add tied their product with the San Francisco "Folsom Street Pride Parade." If I were a Miller Beer drinker, I would have switched brands. When I host a party, I try to stock an assortment of brands and ask guests what they prefer in advance. If I am hosting Miller drinkers, I politely explain why I won't support the company. My guests frequently change brands.

It's not really that difficult to adjust your spending based on your morals. Try it, you might like it.

yes, but the actors/actresses ( and I use those terms lightly) are the ones who get all the attention and then spew vile on authority.

Last movie I went to was Blind Side. I think the last one before that was Sea Biscuit (so long I don’t remember). I don’t watch regular shows on TV either (except 24 sometimes). Mostly news, HGTV, sports. And I haven’t watched the Oscars in years. Don’t know who most of them are anyway. LOL

If you rejected artists based on their beliefs you’d have to throw out most of Western Culture.

I’ll just continue to boycott that bunch of fruits & nuts out there; been doing it for years anyway. I’ve got lots better things to spend my money on.

As a member of the Armed Forces, should I give my hard earned dollars to those who have called me a "murderer" or "terrorist" like Rosie O'Donnel?

Should I support a writer who calls me an idiot, like Stephen King?

People who make comments like that are usually of the ilk of O’Donnell or King. You shouldn’t spend your money on them no matter what they say.
