Philadelphia City Council, May 6, passed a non-binding resolution asking Mayor Michael Nutter to divest any business from Arizona and to encourage area business to reconsider conventions there.
The resolution is non-binding and the vote was 14-3. It was introduced by Councilwoman Maria Quinones Sanchez and was in response to Arizona SB 1070 which neither Ms. Sanchez nor the 13 other council members who voted for the resolution apparently bothered to read

They do in the suburbs.
It's none of their business what the people of Arizona do. If they feel the need for self defense, what has it got to do with a bunch of busy bodies in Philadelphia?
Arizona should buy bus tickets and "share" the illegals with those states who get involved. Why not? What would those other states do about it? Complain?
(The American voters would LOVE it if they did that. Astronaughts would be able to hear the cheers of glee all the way to the space station!)
That's why the City Council resolution was so inane.
This just shows us which cities have already been taken over by foreign influences ; shown by them demanding that AZ be boycotted for enforcing current (federal) immigration law to defend themselves from a foreign invasion.
Remember Chris Matthews (and Colin Powell) tizzy over Michelle Bachman in 2008 saying the press should investigate and report un-American actions/positions by certain congressman/women? I think we can agree that boycotting Arizona for defending itself against foreign invasion is truely Un-American.
Why are not Republicans in congress screaming about Obama not doing his job defending us on this?
Because in 2012 it'll be their job, and they don't want to make waves either.
That's why the voters have to clean out Washington once and for all. It's diseased.
Had a pastor once who used a similar tactic to put a screeching halt to all the complaints and backbiting about things that were not getting done around the church. “Well, Brother Bob, I completely agree and I want to thank you for volunteering to head up the committee to fix that problem.”
The bus lines should be burning up the roads out of Arizona carrying illegals to places like San Francisco and Philly.
It would be bold....and SO COOL!! The other states who support illegals wouldn't have the gonads to complain about it. LOL. They'd have to take them with a (forced) smile.
Oh please Arizona - offer them free bus tickets out!
I just bought the plastic model of the USS Arizona for my kids. I want them to know the strength of this state and what it means to be American.
I hope these lefties keep this up. The longer they do it, the better my home state looks, and the angrier the American people become.
The mayor of Los Angeles was an SEIU leader, and a LaRaza leader.

Ahh, well, gee, that explains a lot, doesn’t it???
Not if they suspect they're mexicans.
A buddy and I noticed some mexican staggering around and trying handles on cars. We called the gendarmes and they arrived in short order.
Upon interviewing him, he was too drunk to pronounce or spell his last name and they found a concealed weapon on him (3 feet of heavy chain), but due to the fact that he was an illegal, they let him stagger on his merry way.
I highly doubt the same courtesy would be extended to a lawful resident.
Can you imagine the revenue the city would generate by simply impounding and auctioning off the vehicles of unlicensed, uninsured, unregistered illegals they come in contact with?
But, somehow, in the liberal mind, mexicans are victims and productive citizens and businesses should be punished (taxed) instead.
In F credible.
Ping!
Arizona should use this as a precedent.
Anybody remember city councilman Angel Ortiz? He went for years without any car insurance or license. That is the type of mentality you are fighting..
