Jonah once again reveals himself to be an idiot.
It's not an 'anti-incumbent' mood. It's an anti-Socialist mood and we no longer give a fig what party label the Socialist wears.

Seniority and connections might be an asset for a politician, but they are a threat to the health of a nation.
The beltway people don’t understand this.

I have no sympathy for Bennett. He ran the first time promising to self-term-limit, saying he would only seek 2 terms. He was running for his 4th term. Who says he can’t still be involved? Sorry.

tainted by seniority and connections
Therein lies the problem.
Yes, it is nice to have representatives who have seniority and connections.
But too many times, that seniority and those connections lead the politician to self-interest and inside the beltway representation, while forsaking the home folk who sent them there initially.
It has been called Potomac Fever. Regrettably, few seem to be immune, especially after they win a 2nd and more terms.

In D.C., the coin of the realm is seniority and connections, It's kinda funny when these politicians return home to their state and wonder why they can't buy anything there with this currency.
Like we're supposed to be impressed that you sometimes eat lunch with Byron Dorgan and can get some hump like Dick Durbin to sometimes respond to your emails.

None of these obituaries for Bennett mention the warm spot in his heart for shamnesty. I really doubt that it endeared him to the folks in Utah.
