Sen. Robert Bennett (R-Utah), who lost his bid for re-nomination on Saturday, has not ruled out running as a write-in candidate for the Senate this fall.
"I've made no decisions to make a decision," he said Tuesday when asked about his political future. Ive made a firm decision not to make any decisions at the moment.
Bennett would only say he'd make a decision "later."
Such a decision would put his colleagues - who personally like Bennett but will only endorse a GOP candidate in the primary - in a tough position.
"It's a little like going to your own funeral while you're still alive," the 76-year-old, three term senator said of his colleagues who said they'd support the GOP nominee in Utah.

Unbelievable. Someone had better pressure McConnell and Hatch to make very public statements AGAINST this.

RINOs are hated because they have no loyalty to Republican principles or to the party.

Lots of sore losers these days.
They refuse to accept that they’re not God’s gift to man.

IF he hasn’t stolen enough money to retire on in the time he has been in Washington, there is no hopes for him.

No. Really. The Country can survive without you Senator Bennet. Really. Do just fine. Be ok. It’s not like you’ve done a bangup job of it so far.
So take a hint and go home.

Sounds like he could care less about his Country and only about himself. He serves the people. He forgot that and now revenge is on his mind.

Disgusting. They can’t just fade away, can they?
To: OldDeckHand
Good luck with that write in idea. Most folks are still edumacated at public schools. Bill Bennett would probably end up with more votes.

RINO’s!
They are the most disgusting creatures on God's good green earth!
It's the same old sense of entitlement. The same old “this seat belongs to me by right and screw what the people want” mentality. What the heck is a 76 year old, 3-term Senator, who initially campaigned on serving just 2 terms, doing making an awful spectacle of himself, when voters have firmly rejected him? It's like an old guy, who refuses to accept it, when his younger girl friend has found a hot younger guy and moved in with him, and continues to show up outside her door, still trying to get in, even after being repeatedly told to shove it.
What is it with these octogenarians and septagenarians like McCain and Bennett anyways? Is it that at that age, they can't have sex anymore, and just get off from all the power and the thrill they get from being United States Senators? They are worse than the Politburo of the former Soviet Union. They want to stay in power till they are carried off dead from old age from the US Senate. Well that nonsense will not be tolerated anymore.
To: OldDeckHand
They just don’t get it do they? You have been rejected! Your eighteen-year sinecure is Washington is over. Now stay home!

These guys were always Democrats...and this is their final tip of the hat. In a way, they are hurting the remaining moderate-players in the party. Why stand by a guy when you know he’d flip to run as an independent immediately after you toss him out?
