SS numbers didn't come into effect until the FDR years, 1935 if I recall correctly.
Yes, but a person born in 1890 would have been 45 in 1935 and would have been issued a card. I can state this with absolute authority as my grandmother (b. 1900) had a social security card issued in 1935, it came into my possession after her death.
The article doesn't state that the card was ISSUED in 1890, it states that the cardholder was BORN in 1890.
So my point still stands, for Obama to be using this number he would 1) have to be over 100 years old, or 2) its fraudulent.
Further clarification:
Since Social Security cards were not issued until FDR (who established the practice)....any dates ‘associated with a card’ previous to 1935 would be birth dates of the cardholder.
Correct - but someone who was born in 1890 would only have been 45 years old if they applied when SS first started. If I understand the story correctly, the number that Obama is using was issued in Connecticut to someone who listed their birthdate as 1890 - it isn’t saying the number was issued in 1890.
However, I believe the records also show that Obama didn’t start using this number until he was in Chicago around 1986....at which time he had already (supposedly) attended Occidental and Columbia. So the question remains, what SSN was he using from 1975 - when he claims to have gotten his job at Baskin-Robbins in Honolulu - until 1986 when he started using this number.
Not sure when, if ever, someone in the state run media will get frustrated enough with the way they are being manipulated and actually start digging into some of these “irregularities”.
