CAIR today called on national Republican leaders to repudiate campaign advertisements for a Florida GOP candidate that advocate racial profiling and promote Islamophobia.

Here's how you handle that:

Are we to understand that CAIR believes that members of a group, if other members, extremists, are doing things they don't agree with, must publicly denounce those acts, or publicly share implicit responsibility for those acts?

Yes, that's our position.

Oh, OK, then we've misunderstood your position. We apologize for the misunderstanding and you'll be happy to learn that the GOP and CAIR are in agreement on this point. Since Muslim extremism predates this ad, we'll expect CAIR to set a public example in living up to those beliefs. Once you've publicly denounced those radical violent factions of Islam to our satisfaction, then we'll be happy to disown this ad. Thank you for your continued interest in the public welfare of the GOP.
