People do not want every sex act to result in pregnancy, for most people, 2 or 3 of those in a lifetime is enough.

People do not want every sex act to result in pregnancy

People don't expect every act to result in pregnancy, because that is never how it has worked. However, in a healthy system, people should expect that any given act could result in pregnancy and they should view that possibility positively. I can't remember the thrill of every act leading the conception of my children, but I can state with absolute conviction that the fact that they were conceived was far more important, consequential and beneficial to me and the rest of Creation than the fact that I was sexually gratified. If, when you make love to your spouse, you think about how you might be enriching eternity, it gives sex the greater intimacy and deeper meaning that it deserves. It is common idea among people that when you die, your life flashes before your eyes. I say, in your imagination, just for a moment, let the unfathomable lives of your unconceived children and childrens' children for countless generations flash before your eyes during sex. It will blow your mind.

for most people, 2 or 3 of those in a lifetime is enough.

If that were true throughout history, humanity would have perished. Enough for what or who? Who am I to deprive souls of their existence? Though having children pleases me, I don't do it merely to please myself. They are not pets. They are created by God, in his images, to worship and love him forever. They will work, prosper, learn, experience, explore, discover, defend, invent, love, cooperate, live, vote conservatively and reproduce. Please don't deprive them and the rest of the world. Be fruitful and multiply!
