The area is also CRAWLING with stormchasers, they’re literally everywhere
Stay safe, Kansas and Oklahoma Freepers!
looks big time dangerous
Hey, it’s south central Kansas. We don’t head for the basement until we hear the freight train. Watch? That means go outside and watch for it.
Things must be going to heat up later this afternoon. Radar is showing some heavy activity just north of Garden City, Ks and a line east of Dodge City. Not much in Ok yet.
I live here too, you know. I’m already going to gas up the truck and head out to chase
I know what you mean about waiting for the freight train noise, I live in west OKC — with the last tornado didn’t do anything until about 5 seconds before it came through and took most of our roof with it, don’t want to wait that long again
I think the kids in Scott City better get off the playground.
I had several good stormchaser forum websites bookmarked before my hard drive crashed last summer.
Can anybody point me to them again?
I dunno, when the rain/hail stops suddenly, it’s usually an indicator a short time before you hear the train.
You can get live video feeds at www.chasertv.com
What I want are links to TV stations in the severe party of the storm area. Anyone know?
I’m in far western OK, it’s just starting to form here, winds are up to about 45 mph and the very large cloud formations are forming to the north and east......stay safe everyone.
Another good one is severe studios
How is Tulsa Looking?
Please stay safe.
Time to get my truck and tractor under shelter. Now, what to do with the wife’s car?
All of the ingredients are coming together for a tornado outbreak in Oklahoma and Kansas. An upper level trough is moving eastwards, creating strong wind shear favorable for tornadoes. Copious amounts of moisture at the surface and cool air aloft will provide the instability necessary for strong storms. Finally, a dryline is expected to form in western Oklahoma that will provide the initiation mechanism for storms to form. This threat is why SPC has issued a High Risk covering NE Oklahoma and SE Kansas.
