Listen, chum, if someone is injured (I mean a real injury, not a John Kerry style Purple Heart injury) in the service of their country, that same country owes it to them to take care of their medical needs afterward. They should also honor contracts made with the military with the same diligence as they would a private contracting firm. In other words, any changes should be grandfathered in. But even so, they do so at their own peril: it’s the military that keeps what’s left our country safe. They guard even those who try to dismantle the structure of that military.

military doctors for military troops is bleeping socialized medicine? Uncle Sam begging selected skilled folks to reenlist time and again over the past 50 years, and promising them medical care for life as an incentive, is now bleeping socialized medicine?

Right friend, cut it. But do it now and do it fast. Give the all volunteer active force a fair shot to vote. With their feet.

I’d be happier if the military were to ‘police’ the next two elections [vote counting & certification] and shoot anyone who tampered with it. {A few rounds of that and people would say “F*ck no, I ain’t going to mess with the ballot-box!”}

Of course, we as civilians have the right to do the same.

For example, the military brass claims that an average sergeant in the Army with four years of service and one dependent would receive $52,589 in annual compensation, according to the paper. This figure includes basic pay, housing and subsistence allowances, as well as tax benefits.

LIES!! They are including tricare is this number. You can’t spend health insurance or retirment $$.

I think the name silverleaf is a clue I might have some insights you lack.

Many of today’s field graders are on their 3rd or 4th tours to Iraq and Afghanistan and the retired ones served in Southeast Asia, the DMZ and on NATO and nuke alert lines.

How many times have you served there? Remember that wonderful feeling in the pit of your stomach as the transport or helicopter circles to land at that deployment base or on that carrier (or dives in to defeat SAMs) and all those kids on their first combat deployments are looking at you? How little pay would you accept to do that over and over again?

You sever pay from qualification?

I challenge you to recruit your next generation of mid and upper level military command from teacher’s colleges where $100K after 10 years of 24/7 looks attractive, especially if every 3 years they send you to serve somewhere where your decisions affect the likelihood of success of people who are trying hard to kill you and your subordinates.

It doesn’t look like they are against a raise, just not as large a raise as proposed.

Calling it a “cut” in pay is disingenous. The libs do the same thing here by calling any reductions in proposed increases a “cut”.

Lest any of you have any residual doubts of obama’s hatred and disdain for our military, remember this as one of first acts as president? (Even the dems gasped)

Make the wounded warriors pay fro their own treatment -

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/03/17/veterans-groups-blast-obama-plan-private-insurance-pay-service-related-health/

“Veterans Groups Blast Obama Plan for Private Insurance to Pay for Service-Related Health Care”

The Veteran's Administration best go through that monstrous health care plan to make sure this isn't tucked in there. Once a narcissist gets something in their head, no amount of reasoning is going to change it.

The Muslim Call to Prayer ...

starting at 4 in the morning

I opine that the 5 times a day obligation to drop to the floor in stinkbug pose is a form of hypnotism. Once they are 'hypnotized' into the belief and tenets, they are kept in that mindset with the 5 x's a day triggers that keep them from 'waking up.'

Anyone ever studied this?

Why should the military be a sacred cow when it comes to cuts? In case you haven’t heard, we’re broke. The main problem here is that Obama is not serious enough. It is time to stop policing the wolrd. Again: here’s a newsflash for you: we can’t afford it anymore.

And here's one for you: the PUBLLIC sector (government jobs) make tens of thousands more a year than the military - and no bullets to dodge.

The congress creatures and senators make 4-5 times what the military make - and retire with almost full pay - and free BEST OF health insurance for life..all out of our pockets.

AND they voted themselves a nice pay raise.

Ever ask for an accounting of how many thousands of retired politicians now living in luxury and at what cost - out of OUR pockets?

I suspicion the military could get raises for many years on that amount.

Thank you for your service

Sebsstian Junger’s Book, “WAR”, is just being released - about his 1 year deployment with BATTLE Co of the 173rd AIRBORNE in the Korengal Valley: “the Most Dangerous Place on Earth”.

He and videograhper, Tim Hetherington, both embedded fro months with Battle Co...they have made a movie: “RESTREPO” - currently showing in film festivals around the country and due in general release in July.

It is NOT a scripted, themed, agenda movie...no politics, no 'actors', no input from brass...you are just boots on the ground as it happens, day to day, hour to hour...with the troops.

This ought to be REQUIRED watching for all congress creatures and senators. And then, after you watch this and see the sacrifices made by our troops in that valley - make them watch what they just let obama do to them - what he took away from them and GAVE to the Taliban (hint: It includes their ammo, missiles, rockets...that are now already being used against our troops. and none dare call it treason?)

Watch the trailer:

http://restrepothemovie.com/

read the book:

http://www.amazon.com/WAR-Sebastian-Junger/dp/0446556246/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1273508200&sr=8-3

Watch how this administration repayed them:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WamBeYQeRvE

for those of you, like CaptainKirk, who opine the military should have their pay cut - go soak your stinking heads. if anyone has any doubts that this CICINO hates the military, this is but the latest in his open hostiltiy towards them. So yourselves a favor, FREEPERS, and our military this small courtesy of watching, saving and sending out these two videos.

and your point is?

Are they fighting any less?

Are they dying any less? - Actually, they are now dying at the rates of the first year of the war, due to the insane new ROE put in place by this CICINO -

You brave enough to at least look at the two videos in post #75 - and remember, this is the president that, as one of his first acts as president, tried to make our wounded warriors pay for their own treatment.

GET THIS! this president HATES our military. He does NOT hate the Taliban. Reconcile that...

Cool.
Usually, wannabe dictators lavish money on the military and let their other bureaucrats supplement their pay with corruption.
That shows that President Obama is even more foolish than we thought...

rather, your lack of EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE

Your 'lack of biases'

Your biases are loud and clear

Actually, it isn't so laughable, it's pathetic

Foolish?

I think not.

I think he viscerally hates our military - has so shown all along - and cares more for the safety and concerns of the Taliban - as evidenced by actions
